Oh yeah, i want to know if we loose xp if we die for this fight?

PLD maat is really easy. I died trying at level 69 with tanking gear. Tried a second time at 70 with cheap crappy DD gear and a borrowed Haubergon, and owned him. I just slept with opo-opo and used an IW for TP, and used vorpal or swift blade (can't remember it was a while ago). I tried to kite when he used invincible but it didn't help at all. He still hit me every time lol.

I was poor so I didn't have Vile Elixir + 1. I just spammed potions. You can get those for almost nothing these days since they drop from assault like crazy. And I don't think you lose any exp from dying. You just have to get another testimony.

I'll use opo-opo necklace before begin to have tp 300% but i really don't know with whick WS to start, i thought to use Spirit Within cuz when tp 300 and hp full it can do half of your max hp but im not sure if it would be more strong than swift blade or vorpal :P Omg, i think i'll have to wait to be really ready!! I'm so nervous lol. I'll watch some more videos of fights, if someone could give me a nice address with videos of ffxi i would appreciate it ^^

It's not as bad as people say it is, getting to it is easy too. I tanked it np at level 71 and level 75 it's a breeze. Of course if you have a ninja friend you don't even need a whole party but eh.

Have it!! We were 8 ppls. A pld75, smn75, whm75, whm70, pld71 (me), sam71, drk71 and a mnk75. The aoe were a little tough and the damn columns was confused to find but everything went well

That was not that bad as i've heard, you was right ^^
