I had a lot of friends in jos at one point. For a little while Monarchy and jos were doing some things together (pop NMs and dynamis, no HNM) and life was good. We got along well. I secretly hoped we would merge with them and start doing bigger stuff because most of our good players stopped playing, jumped to other LS, or rarely logged on. We rarely had enough people online at the same time to get shit done.

Anyways somebody in Monarchy stole Ulli from a 6 man jos party (it went unclaimed) when they were wiping with a ton of statue aggro, which started drama, people in Monarchy didn't handle it well IMO, and everybody hated each other after that. I was in the RuAvitau when it happened but didn't know wtf was going on till after (I was omw to Ulli camp when it happened). I didn't pick a side in that drama. It got to the point where Eromenos was going to pay our LS for the stone and give it to them, but he got flamed by our LS for that idea. If I remember right, Ero quit FFXI for a while after that.

I just went to Monarchy forums to try and look up the thread...and I couldn't because I'm deleted! I wonder what I did. I know most of them dislike me because I was a complainer towards my final days...but so were many others. Blah. Whatever.

Yea i'm not sure what DL was saying about JoS i never was at a king camp with JoS where we CFH or called GM's but im not saying it never happened, i just figured it would have been mentioned in LS chat at some point.

As for monarchy i did dynamis with them a few times, Ero liked to fuck with me, and i never had an issue with anyone in monarchy, again i wasnt around for the Ulli thing, and i know for sure as a 75THF i could have given two shits and a fuck about anything in sky.

I did dynamis with monarchy for a bit too. That's where I met akuku. I think their dyna ls name was wtfmpk and they lived up to the name. I think someone told me the puller was stoned or something.

Ero was quite irritable when running dynamis. He would crack me up on teamspeak when he was pissed off. I was always drunk in dynamis, so I didn't care what happened.



Yeah that would be Ero lol. He liked to get really messed up when running dynamis. At the end of the run they wouldn't say anything, and would drag a huge train of mobs to the camp and make everybody wipe. Some people got pissed about it.

Ero was fun in Dynamis. I miss talking to Tilo and some other people as well but not all that bothered. All the people I met on FF11 I saw through a kind of filter with "FF ADDICT" branded on it, if you know what I am trying to say.

I vaguely remember some of the events people mentioned in this thread that we did or were involved in. I think though that I regret joining JoS or any other linkshell, because it made the 'friendships' in game much more serious and polarised. You love your ls mates, and don't talk to anyone else. I used to love talking to 5-6 people at once.

Oh and I was made an officer lol, I took that so seriously, trying to sort out peoples problems and keep track of loot and attendance and being like a counsellor when people were arguing.

What was going through my head all those months I wonder...

Not all in LSes were like this, in fact, most weren't/aren't. This is why I hated JoS, they more than any other LS (with the exception of maybe ckd) seemed to support/enforce that type of a mentality

It was never a policy to be like that, or if it was I just totally ignored it. I would talk to my friends all the time, without knowing or caring what linkshell they were in. When some of those people applied to join JoS I would say something good about them.

It was just you had to be pretty absorbed in your own linkshell. Or things like Ulli... might have two linkshells with three people up there each squabbling and fighting over each PH pop, when they could just team up and relax, have fun socialising and at the end of the day, nothing changes. One group will get lucky and get the stone, the others will go home empty handed but at least not angry and bitter over wasting time.

I had atleast one friend in every HNM LS. I never let my LS absorb me to the point where I wouldn't talk to people in other LS.

My best FFXI friend who wasn't in my LS was in ttk and tried sooooooooooo hard over and over and over and over to get me to join ttk.

I honestly considered jumping ship a couple times towards the end (not to ttk lol, but I talked to my friends in the LSes I was considering applying to). Having a 75 BLM and RDM with merits and decent gear...I could have gone damn near anywhere! Aside from camping kings (which would have bored me) there was a ton of other fun endgame stuff I never did I wish I could have done.....but I never applied to any other LS because I didn't want to create drama with my friends in Monarchy.

Sparky. After Cory left the first time, Zargon became the leader. After he quit, Centhea became the leader. After that, most of the original members of JOS HNM (i don't want to offend anyone here by saying original members of JOS), had quit. This was probably a year ago. I know that's when i got sick of the game and quit for a few months. Anyway, when i came back, JOS was more or less done. We tried to bring it back because when i came back, a few other popular people did as well (Cory, Truhls). But this was very short lived and most of the people moved on.

i'm on every now and then, not much anymore. Centhea is on every now and then. Malkav has been all over the place and still playing. He has Fyakyo's character now.

Mekong, Dragarius, Saladhead, Kane, Truhls, Cherie, Iolanthe, Deitre, Mandos, etc., all gone. There's not many people from the old days on anymore.

omg I remember Zargon...haven't heard that name in a while. I exp'ed my PLD with his RDM a couple times in the 60s...and he was the most amazing RDM I ever partied with. He played RDM/BRD that was a puller, and did all his other RDM duties exceptionally well.

I also like Malkav a lot. I was friends with him for a long time. I hope he is doing well.

CKD didnt ignore other linkshells at first. In fact, I encouraged everyone to always got the extra mile and help someone they didnt know. What I did was request that no one use any other message board but the CKD forums. It wasnt enforced (Mikey sure didnt follow the rule), it was just something I asked people to do, no one had to listen to me. I just didnt like drama starting on any other forum but ours.

People like to remember the bad, but CKD was a linkshell that helped many players outside of our own. Cheeseburgers and CobraKaiDynamis should confirm that. Lets not forget that Kayne helped 90% of the first and second generation players with something. I myself made it a point to help lots of people with all sorts of things. I did that to help create the CKD image. I wanted all the NA players to realize CKD was on their side and that NA players didnt have to depend on Japanese players for help.

Lets not forget that CKD was also created as way to give a collective "Fuck you" to the japanese players. My aim was never to piss off NA players. I didnt set my target on NA players until whats-their-faces decided to ditch Cheeseburgers and do their on private raids. Then they went on to say they carried us in Dynamis. I generally look at that instance as the start of most the NA vs NA conflict.

hmmm yarr well when I got alot of help from some of your members and I did help back as well. Also when I hit level 75 PLD when I was not leveling and just running or farming I would help NA ppl get what they needed to get to where we are.

I can't say that i had anyone from CKD offer to help me do anything, infact i know Remey helped me with my THF AF in Sauromauge because he was a friend of someone else who was helping me, who's name i cannot remember lol.

I never heard anything good about CKD before i got to end-game, but i admit, i heard a shitload of worse things about Hokuten and Piro.

And Monarchy was really messed up. I hated Ero, Obie, Jedix (Obie and Ero's lapdog), Aiame #1, Kalix, Obelisk. such one-sided jerks. Just a fratboy fanclub as far as I'm concerned. The only worthwhile people in monarchy left/got booted.

Kluya and I never had beef. But everyone in monarchy disliked me when I dropped pearl/got booted for getting angry that a Rng was lotting Haidate over my Mnk, including Kluya. And now I'm still bitter about it, but not so much at the event, just the people behind the event. The way it was handled, the people involved was what I didn't like. Only the people that licked Talis' butt got gears, I didn't wanna do that. So in a way, yeah, I see why I wasn't lotting haidate, but fuck it, they were real assholes lol.

Navyr what was your character name? I dont remember you being around for the original Cheeseburger raids.

Cheeseburger was fun to play in raid I loved it and I remember when all tank was out someone put me in and I was like "Fuck yeah". good thing I watch how it work and I learned fast to do tanking as yarr gave me few pointers, also being a sac baits as well man I missed those fun. I wonder if my char is still useable hmmmmmm.

Looking back on it, I don't know why I was so passionate about that LS. I let them brainwash me to dislike everybody they disliked.

The only person I like who is probably still with them...is Nizzy. He was pretty much my best friend in game for the last several months I played.
