By using the return home campaign, i was able to get my old character back after almost 3 years. He's naked and broke, but he's alive.

Good news for anyone trying to return. But there's a few things I've heard. Namely if you make a character to chat or screw around before you try to restore your character, you disqualify yourself.

Although I did lose my FFXI Reg codes for my first account, an account GM was able to login and enter it for me to buy a content Id after i verified some info.

Anyone else tried/needed this?

Nice, you got your NIN/DRG/THF Elvaan original character back. I would have to do this if I ever came back I think. I don't have time for a MMORPG I think, I barely have time to play any games. Fucking sucks.

Haha if I could get Kluya back I would honestly play for a couple months. I don't know if I should even try lol.

I tried to get it back so many goddamn times in the past but it failed every time. I never created another character on the slot I deleted it from. Kluya still has gilz and all the equip. Nice and gimp still in comparison with all the people playing today.

Not sure anyone around here remembers me, lol. Was just looking here because no other FFXI boards I remember seem to have any activity (or even exist). I actually went thru the type b restoration procedure. I still had my POL ID and password written down and the original disk with the registration codes.

I went to the web page and entered the info and it popped up my pally. I selected continue and it said I didn't have an appropriate content ID. I logged on to POL thru the viewer (which I had to reinstall) and bought a FFXI content ID using the same original registration code. It let me do that. Went back to the website and filled out the application and the pally was restored right then and there.

I logged into FFXI and it did a version check. Took about 6 hours to update the version so I just let it run overnight. In the morning, I logged on and my guy was in his Mog House in San D'Oria, pretty much exactly as I remember leaving him when I cancelled FFXI close to 3 years ago. I gave away my gluttony sword and adaman armor before I quit, so he was wearing his pally AF bedsheets.

Then, I realized that I have totally forgotten how the controls work, none of the macros are there, and all that.

Doubt I'll ever play FFXI again like I once did, but, I can say the return home process worked just fine for me. I'll probably get online occasionally and see who all is around and play around with it some before I cancel it again in a few months.

No more Whisp from what I understand. Can't get back a banned character. They have no idea that someone else did that other than CC and IP address info. You could call them up and try. I wouldn't though, MMOs are vampires that sucks away your RL.

Who got Whisp banned? Thats BS. I'd try anyway if you have your registration codes still. And all the account info. FYI if you go change the credit card right away it's valid when the GM verifies your info. Worked for me, since the old CC was expired and i forgot the number.

Ok...I wonder if I can remember my POL ID. I'll check into it lol.

No way in fucking hell I have the registration code I created Kluya on.

I'd have to re-install it on my slowly dying desktop since I don't want to buy another xbox live ID for my 360 (which Ephit is created on).

Yeah, we were in the Mordana LS together for a while. You were like a 50ish PLD. Even to this day, I occasionally ask Cyntari when she's going to introduce her daughter to you, lol... that and a few wise cracks about being Yarr's love slave. Makes her laugh

I remember Imanimd doing his PLD AF (well lots of other PLDs were doing their AF at the time). Pretty sure I helped, and later on you helped my friend Necrosis (who was way behind at the time).

Yeh I'm tryin to restore my characters atm... and for some reason the return campaign isn't working for me so I had to actually call SE and talk to them about doing a restore as well as find out why their shit wasn't working. I got some runaround that the way my account was canceled or some shit was the problem (I get a message saying my playonline account wasn't canceled so therefore I'm ineligible for the return campaign). Atm they are seeing if they can do a restore, but I get the feeling I'm shit outta luck..... 3 days down since I spoke with the tech and requested a restore of my characters and still no luck. Think I'll give it another week and call them back up (yay for waiting on hold for 30 min. >.<).

You don't even have to actually do return campaign to get the ring. You just talk to the moogle and if you never got one before u get a ring. I got one w/ my mule anyway.
