BG could keep you occupied for a little while.

You could also visit the sites at work and let the IT workers there fix anything that might happen

for those who know what they are doing could get the KillBox and type the virus path into the KillBox and it will find it in the path and any trees of it and delete it from your system faster and more completely then most other systems.

From what i've read you have to be rediculously unprotected and under-updated to be infected.

Basically, from what I have read.. if your character has a lot of GIL items, then they'll look into actually hacking your account. They obviously don't care for RA/EX items, so a lot of people with KClubs, Speed Belts, Osodes, etc etc are the ones getting hacked. Really sucks for Twig, he had a lot of that gear.. lol. Shiekh Manteel :/

Icy and Theend were hacked as well. Other than them and Twig I'm unsure of who else there is.

Wow I was expecting a big list, only 3 confirmed on our server isn't so bad, gotta suck hard for those people though.

Something else crossed my mind. Since the virus was transmitted via RMT company banners on sites, isn't it obvious these companies have their hands deep in this?

Then again, I'm no computer genius, so I guess it would also be possible for them to simply hack the site banners or something lol.

Well the virus exploits a Realplayer bug, the way you get it is by visiting an infected site with Microsoft Internet Explorer, having Realplayer installed, and having ActiveX control enabled. The virus from Somepage comes from a tiny "box" that was installed in the source coding on the site which mirrors you to mirosofct.com (I think that's what it is) and then using those 3 "expliots" it installed a keylogger Trojan onto your computer.

After reading about what Yarr went through, it's very very possible this is what happened to him with his WoW account, I read on another forum about a couple of WoW sites that had an issue recently similar to this. For the time being, I would uninstall Realplayer, and use Firefox with the noscript plugin to browse FFXI and WoW related sites.

They fount something, doesn't mean it's everything. I would also inject a little extra in a trojan and use the detectable virus to cover up and keep the user thinking he's safe when it gets deleted. These sites nowdays are full of no goods.

Twig was a fucking tool anyways. So was Icy (he got back into our LS, borrowed an Osode, dropped his pearl, and sold the Osode lol).

Theend was pretty cool though.

The current person that was using Icy(prehack) wasn't the original Icy(s)(there was 2 people playing that character right?). I think before the accounts were hacked Theend and Icy were played/owned by the same person.

At least thats what their comment on BG seemed like. Twig was in my nyzul assault perma. lol :(

Yeah that was the problem. There was a cool Icy (the one that started the character) and his friend who did the shady stuff.

Interesting. Im positive I didnt have real player on my computer though. I had just finished reinstalling everything and I never install real player unless I absolutly need it for something. I hate that POS player. I always have and always will.
