O hai,

I dont know about anyone else, but I am getting excited about FFXIV. The alpha testing has begun and the first round of people have been chosen. So did anyone make it? There should be several batches picked too. Anyways I will be happy either way, beta or no beta.

So I just wanted to gather the opinion of all you local CKD forums folk. Are you going to play? Do you want to play together? How many people can we count on banding together on the same server? Are you planning on causal or hardcore experience? Who wants to explore shit with me!

I am looking forward so much to the game, the art, the exploration, but most of all the community. Final Fantasy XI has always been the most warming and exciting atmosphere of players in all of the games i've joined since then (aka only WoW lol). It was just cooler to be in some random corner of the world fishing and see a familiar face walk by. I know that FFXIV wont attract 10 million players, and I am very happy about that.

Also, would you choose the same game name? or choose the same class? So who wants to gather on one server. What do you all think?

I would love to join with people from this forum and recreate awesomeness in FF14.

I'm going to look into the idea of dualboxing (or more than 2 accounts), as long as it doesn't break the TOS. The thought of playing a troupe of Falafals would be totally awesome.

With the addition of last names, I've already come up with a lot of neat names for them.

I'll probably play. I recently reactivated my FF11 account. Still some old faces around, including a handful of people that still rock the CKD pearl.

While I'm currently still addicted to WoW I'm definitely thinking of checking out FF14 when it comes out. I have fond memories of FFXI and if they can fix all the shit that was wrong with it I could dig it. After all I still swing by this forum from time to time after all these years.

I have to say I hope they keep the strong incentives to group up to level up. I don't mind viable soloing but for an MMO community it really needs to encourage grouping. The language barrier between Japanese veterans really imo made the NA players band together and discover the game together as they achieved their goals... even if I did piss them off to beg help from JPs to get my lvl 50 limit removed and never had anything resembling a perma.
