So how many of you are interested in doing stuff in FF14 similar to how we did it in FF11, with the whole "serious business" approach, though perhaps a bit watered down, since many of us have a lot more RL responsibilities now than we did 6-7 years ago?

I'm toying with the idea of starting to work on a template for some sort of CKD community/guild website. Still way too early to tell exactly how we're going to describe our characters (WHM75/SMN37), like we did back in the day, but I'm thinking at least we could have basic user pages that store crap like what our stats our, what tradeskills people have leveled and such, so people can look for people who have fishing above level 30 and get spit back a result of all the guild members who meet that.

Not to mention throwing together some sort of calendar that can be used for scheduling events, and those events could be posted requesting certain things, like...

Friday, December 10th 2010. 5:00 p.m. Server Time.
We will be beating up on random NM. We'll need:
Gladiator with a level of 25+ in skills X, Y and Z (Main tank)
Lancer with a level of 20+ in skills X, Y and Z (Help handle/AoE adds)
2 other melee damage dealers with a level of 20+ in skills X, Y and Z
1 Conjurer specialized in healing skill 20+
1 Conjurer specialized in damaage skill 20+
1 Thamaturge for (de)buffs skill 25+
1 Cook for food
1 Blacksmith for repairing
1 Fisherman for slapping Mikey in the face with a smelly trout whenever he says something silly.

Then people could just log in and choose to attend that event, at which point, it'll subtract one of the requested items from the list, should they meet one of those requirements.

And there'd be options to allow more than the required amount attend. I'm sure there will be "more the merrier" type events, while others may be party-only, due to a battlefied, BCNM type situation.
