Several new blue magic spells will be added.

In addition to the above, performance-enhancing tweaks will be introduced for a host of existing job abilities. The exciting details will be announced in the very near future, so stay tuned!

After "New blu spells" is a picture of a blue mage casting Everyone's Grudge. I assume blue mages will be killing themselves over and over to power this up. I look forward to making good money farming Fire4/Blizzard4 scrolls for red mages who lack foresight.

Besides all this, the third Abyssea expac will be added in this update, including the final (body, hands) pieces of Empyrean artifact armor. Will include zones for Abyssea Uleguerand, Grauberg, and Altepa. The trailer also reveals a new boss fight at the Empyreal Paradox, where we fought Promathia in the final CoP bc.

A brand new storage bag is being added in this update that will match your normal bag's capacity, and any items stored in your aht urhgan mog locker will be available in the field.

A new line of quests will be implemented, the reward? Very gay job specific emotes.

I'm sure you guys are pissing yourselves with excitement.

If I had all the free time in the world and no shame I would go back and try to take Summoner to 90. It's the one job in that game I really wanted to do but never had the time for. The new AF3 armor looks awesome for all classes too.

The Monk ability sounds pretty sick. The summoner move for adding mp to your avatar's tp for blood pacts could be cool. I find it interesting that after all this time they've added stoneskin, blink, aquaveil, and the spikes to Scholar, making it a more viable sub for black mages. The pld/drk/sam/drg abilities are probably strong but I'd take something I can use every 5 minutes against any mob over them. The drg breath abilities could be good, depending on how they work. Having Fire and Blizzard 4 on rdm is going to be monstro awesome.

Summoner has access to Odin and Alexander now, but only while Astral Flow is active, and only level 75+. AF3 armor looks awesome for the most part and also has really great stats and bonuses. Just about every melee job gets 2 unmatchable haste+ pieces plus other job specific bonuses and massive stat upgrades.

All these new editions make me want to go back and play, but I just wouldn't be able to. I would never be able to find the help to get anything done.

BST's get ignored. I don't play anymore, it's just sad how redundant some of the classes have become.

Level 90...damn

I remember one of my more favorite past-times was training a whole bunch of mobs with an "aga" spell to the end of a zone and then killing them...now they wouldn't even survive the approach, of course it depends on the zone I guess. Whole zones could be trained and then wiped out now at that level or those giant dragons could take less people.

They ever kill absolute virtue legit yet? I'm so behind on news of that game and actually glad I am lol.

I've heard people have killed AV legit, but now nobody bothers because his drops are crap. Same for pandemonium warden.

I've solod king arthro a bundle of times as drg/whm, did fafnir in a trio with pretty much all damage coming from paladin in 30 minutes. Could do nidhogg the same way, Jailers and AV would certainly be possible in small numbers. Generally anything outside of abyssea is ultra-smallmannable.

Many abyssea bosses can also be done with low numbers but the people have to be good and the jobs have to be right. However, with the way abyssea drops work, it pays to have a more varied party as certain spells and weapon skills can trigger and increase item/keyitem drops.

Yeah it makes me remember when Mikey told me how Illidan Stormrage was already programmed into WoW but it'd take something like 60 level 100 players to kill him.

Some stuff is still hard, abyssea bosses have some unique abilities and strengths. Some of it is pure cheating like a mandragora with aoe doom. Others go through phases where they absorb certain types of damage during certain actions. Almost all abyssea nm and bosses are immune or highly resistant to gravity, making solo difficult. Most NM hit hard (harder than fafnir) regardless of their tier in the zone hierarchy. Generally though, everything added with these expansion packs has been designed to actually be killable in 2-12 member groups within 60 minutes and yield decent treasure pools. Some mobs with the right equipment, enhancements, strategy, and player skill can be killed solo.

System-relatedThe "Mog Sack" submenu has been added to the "View House" menu.
The "Mog Sack" is a new form of storage in the spirit of the existing Mog Satchel. It is accessible from anywhere on Vana'diel and allows players to freely interchange items with their standard inventory. Possessing the same storage capacity as the player's gobbiebag, it can be expanded to a maximum of 80 slots through quest completion.

The Mog Sack may be obtained for 9,980 gil from one of the "Artisan Moogle" NPCs stationed in the areas below (prior ownership of a Mog Satchel is not required for purchase). In the event that your gobbiebag increases in capacity after purchasing your mog sack, you may speak with an Artisan Moogle to have your mog sack expanded free of charge. Base empyrean armor is kind of like the Relic-1 gear from Chains of promathia dynamis zones. It's pretty much useless. In order to upgrade from basic empyrean to +1 you must acquire 8 job/slot appropriate seals from NM or quests in abyssea. Most empyrean+1 are pretty awesome on their own, Dragoon boots+1 completely annihilate anything else in that slot for example.

To upgrade from +1 to +2 you must obtain 6 job/slot appropriate items from big bosses of abyssea. In order to fight these bosses you must progress through the zone hierarchy of NM, kind of like sky or sea, and obtain key items from T2/3 NM.

Overall, red mage and paladin are going to need some serious help by level 99 if SE intends to keep those jobs as useful as they've been since 2002. At 99, Scholar will have access to haste, refresh, and regain. They'll also be able to cast all those spells as AOE to hit the full party and have another stratagem that makes enhancing spells last longer. Ninja has always been good, and good ninjas have always been incredibly good, but with recent boosts and gear additions it's been made into an "everyone can be awesome" type job. If they ever add utsusemi: san, it's all over.

I'm happy with Dragoon, it's right where it's been for a while now. It's not so strong that anybody can make it a powerhouse dd, but it's definitely a bona fide heavy hitter. With hard work, the player (see: me) can make dragoon a seriously catastrophic damager. New bonuses to teamwork with the wyvern enhance this, and while I'd personally prefer more player based stats on the gear, I have to admit that adding food effect to wyvern is friggn awesome. Also, I enjoy the fact that such a huge Store tp bonus was added to dragoon's gear set. It's seemed as of late that SE would consider adding store tp to drg's natural traits. Drg was given a new trait called COnserve TP while I was gone, which works like conserve MP. Using weapon skills will sometimes not consume all tp, I've used ws and been left with almost 40% tp at times.

Black mage gets pretty boring enhancements on the AF3, and I still don't like the fact that scholar gains access to all the spells, but blm still maintains the strongest nukes in the game. It's a streamlined, single purpose job, and I like it. Also, Meteor was promised, and is in the dats for level 99...

That could actually be something major. Bard now has access to tier2 elemental carols which raise resistance and occasionally nullifies damage of that element. WHM set boost probably does that, since "enhances effect" generally just means it's stronger and "augments effect" generally means something entirely new is added to the effect.

Okay, that could be cool actually. It sounds like they have made the game incredibly epic. It was already on a pretty grand scale to begin with. I can't really even comprehend the complexity now. It seems like there's simply too much to do.

The armor does look gorgeous, too.

It takes 7 days to cast, and right before you get to see the animation cloud strife shows up and kills you.

but yeah honestly I'm hoping there are no more big updates for another 6 months or so, I want to take some time to enjoy all of this.

The whole idea is that when we step foot into abyssea, for some reason, we are stronger. Opposite goes for when abyssean people come to our dimension. Abyssea is a parallel dimension version of Vana'diel. In Heroes of Abyssea we finally find out what happened.

Apparently, Abyssea is in a dimension where Promathia was victorious at the end of CoP. The Warriors of Light (Champions of Abyssea) went to fight him and were slaughtered, Prishe was the sole survivor. Now Promathia exists as Shinryu the Wyrm God, you battle him in the final BC of the Abyssea main quest line.

Think all this would make sense if I progressed more in the Wings of the Goddess storyline. Interdimensional travel, Atomos, possible futures, etc. I've tried not to read ahead on it to avoid spoilers but apparently...the Vana'diel we live in is a thread of time that was never meant to be.

For comparison, a galka is about as big as one of this guy's hands.

Dead's doing all this interdimensional leaping, trying his best to set right what once went wrong, and hoping each time that his next leap... will be the leap home.

Without giving too much away. As I understand it, it's not that our world wasn't meant to be. Basically our world is where Promathia wasn't successful and was locked away, basically what you learn in CoP, and the world turned out as it has.
In Abyssea, which is an alternate time thread, Promathia WAS successful so the world is all kinds of messed up.

It's kind of neat. As a result the Zilart never existed. So there are no crags in the 3 tele zones.
Though SE did fuck up and use some sea mobs in some Abyssea zones...
