first of all,
PLD-Shiloh: He's an awesome tank. I exp'd with Shiloh more than anyone else, even more than Thunderstomp, and I gotta say Shiloh never ever loses hate. Exp was very awesome with him as tank. I don't think I ever died while I was with Shiloh.
DRG-Thunderstomp: TS is my good friend irl, known him for like 10 years or so. We can discuss FF strategies and whatnot. Honestly, even though dragoon takes a lot of abuse from people, I dont think I've ever partied with someone who dealt more DPS than him. Keep in mind it was pre-TPnerf, but his jumps, his wyvern, his regular hits, and his weapon skills added up to a lot. He could solo Even Match and sometimes Tough. I could powerlevel him on VT for cryin out loud. At 60! Now he's starting monk and I just bet he owns.
DRK-Scyth: Best puller "evar." Yep, a dark knight. Well I met him as thief, so he learned to pull early on. His souleater was the best souleater I've ever seen. I miss Scyth. He lives in Iceland btw.
WHM-Yarr: Yarr is in an elite category of FF intellectuals, like Ilma Rein and Ketrebu for example (and others). I learned more about this game from him than anyone else. And, he was a white mage I could watch and learn from.
BLM-Mikey: He's a great black mage. It's in his taru genetics to be great. He's adaptive and stylish. His dagger intimidates IT monsters. And he keeps everyone in a constant state of laughter. You see, it's this laughter that keeps everyone in a good mood which keeps exp rate high.
ive partied with these guys so much, i know their playing style well. i'd say they are the best at their jobs. but of course everyone is going to say who they are most familiar with.
with my old perma set aside, and current players only:
WAR-Skye: If you're looking for the versatility of massive damage and evasive tanking, Skye can do it all. And he's über hardcore. If you ever find him to be not online, take a screenshot.
MNK-Kayne: I've never seen anyone fling themselves into suicidial situations and come out victorious more often than this guy.
WHM-Rubyxiii: I've heard Ruby say he's lazy during exp (probably joking and I doubt it), but for white mage I gotta judge ability based on NM fights. In difficult situations like these, Ruby is calm, efficient, and confident.
BLM-Ilmaterrori: There are lots of great black mages out there, but Ilma knows everything there is to know about this job, and manages to deal maximum damage without getting hate as well.
THF-Azn: Glad he's back because once he gets re-equipped we're talking about a thief who never gets hit and rakes in the loot.
RDM-Shadowstalker: I had the fortune of exp'ing with him at 62&75. He never lets Refresh drop while enfeebling and nuking too.
PLD-Fattino: Galka paladins can reach a higher plateau of tanking, and he does an excellent job at it. I feel safe when he's taking the hits. And he's got some pretty hot gear now.
NIN-Ilmaterrori again: Ilma is like a scholar at this game, he masters his jobs. No one blink tanks better than him.
DRK-Reinheld: I exp'd with him in the late 60's. He's a high damage dealer who uses his abilities well. He's also very knowledgable at this game and a good leader.
RNG-Cyntari: She's a reliable damage dealer, and, oh, did I mention--Holy crap she's an awesome damage dealer?
DRG-Exo: I have exp'd with him on several occasions on my path to 75whm. He's a catalyst--he likes to get things started rather than sit around, whether it be exp or NM fights. He also likes to shove pointy spears up monsters' butts, which is kinda hot.
BST-Sesshoumaru: He may have taken a huge chunk of time off that slowed him down, but he was and is the father of Ifrit server beastmasters. He knows the secrets of the animal kingdom.
SAM-Shuchi: I haven't gotten to watch much of his summoner, but when he was on samurai, Shuichi was pretty awesome at dealing hits.
SMN-Volrath: He's a master summoner with the gear, the summons, and the knowledge of the job. His summons are almost as hot as FF8.
BRD-Talisin: Hi, can I have your Osode and Crown? Kthx. Seriously tho, he's got a very good singing voice. Tal should start a band.
