It would seem, that in true SE style, their crappy ass update server is overloaded with traffic from around the world, therefor causing updates to take 10000 times longer than they should. Had they taken the suggestion of having the updates available on their website as a patch or some sort of executable, or the suggestion of having multiple update servers this problem would be avoided, but of course since they are a bunch of conceded assholes who don't actually care about their customers, they haven't done this. I have called several times in the past to complain about the update problems and I often get the same response "I'm sorry nothing can be done." I have inquired about a http site with the patch and they told me that it was "in the works" and this was months ago back when optimum online users couldn't connect to their service. As we can plainly see, nothing has been done to improve the update system. The people who got the updates supa-fast were lucky in that they logged in before primetime traffic, as for the rest of us... see you tomorrow I guess, I have had to restart the patch about 20 times already and it keeps giving me errors for the last 2 hours. Guess I'll just screw around on the forums until I go to bed.

what really annoying is that once you finally connect it disconnects to "check files" and you lose your place in the queque and then get booted and have to restart therefore getting put on the top of the heap again. SE ARE BASTARDS.

Yeah but we all pay money to play this game 24-7, not 24-6 or whatever, the frustration people are feeling is justified because fucking SE is too lazy to fix this problem, and this isn't even the first time, this happens EVERY time there is a major patch. I say we all spam SE with hate mail about how much they suck.

Go to WoW, 1.3 million active users and they're alot better....

This is the third time I left the computer while POL was updating, then when I come back a few hours later I find that I got kicked from server and have to start over :-( Looks like I won't be on tonight hehe

I have said fuck FFXI for tonight. I started playing Tetramaster and laughed. I'm gonna go finish my term paper that's due tomorrow than to try and update FF. So far it's up to 14 pages and I'm needing more to type.
