2. sucks you all went to wow, saw that the people sucked but rather than come back to ffxi, continued to play it and bitch about the people playing it

and jim; for me personally, when I leave an mmo it tends to be for a core reason so that i never have the slightest interest in coming back to it lol

I left ffxi because of its lack of PVP. Ballista and brenner were fun. . . if anyone actually ever played it. Hell I still had fun even though my pet classes were complete shit vs anything else; smn being 1 shot and my wyvern being insta pwned- but i still had fun, but when you show up for the shcedualed games every single day and having them cancelled constantly, I just said fuck this lol

I never actually wanted to play WoW in the first place, but played it because my computer couldn't play Eq2 at the time and my cousin made me play WoW lol. WoW's gameplay was really easy and pretty fun, alot of good pvp when your coming from a game like ffxi; but over the years my tolerance for its design faded, and I quit as soon as I heard about Warhammer. For me graphics and design is a huge issue, and I only played WoW because there was no other options for me- I was gonna try lineage 2 but I heard so much bad things about korean games I never ended up trying it ( though i do plan on giving aion a try ).

im playing eq2 now that im waiting for warhammer, the graphics on my new rig are crazy beautiful, and the gameplay and pvp seems decent. the only issue with eq2 is that it feels very empty, the environment just feels strange. I think thats why its not very popular, you just can't put your finger on it but something is weird with the way eq2 feels. Aot of things are very plasticy too as mikey pointed out.

My irl friends had to convince me over a period of several months to play it--haha, and I won't power game like I did with FFXI. I'm not playing that tune again.

hmm I downloaded the beta 10gig file and when i go to setup it says Warhammer Online requires later directx than is installed. . .and it takes me to the microsoft webpage to download the file

this worries me since I just got a new vista 64 OS. . ., any info would help; i dont really want to download something not understanding what its going to do lol

I have Vista x64 and i play fine, try googling "DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer" and install it. But depending on what vista version you have, you should have dx10.

I have home premium 64 bit, I just assumed all vista was direct x 10; Ill get that thing you reccomended and see if it helps

I guess all versions of vista does come with dx10, maybe you need 9.0c (directx_9c_redist.exe) installed as well, just google it.

immidiate thoughts, just got into game: The graphics on my comp for some reason look bad, lol And the options in the settings make no changes what so ever; I cannot get it to look like the videos I've seen. RUnning it on 1920x1200 res.

Gameplay wise its very fun; my only other complaint would be horrible hair and face options, just not nearly enough customization for that; No sliders and this game is released in 08? comon now lets have alittle more options - and I can't name my War lion.. lol

Yeah I'm turpid, lol Just found out the game is stuck on low quality and no lightning effect for beta haha. looks pretty good for low actually haha o.O The pvp is sick, the only thing that annoys me is the motherfucking explosion at the flag that auto pwns you; Im like skjfhskjdhf.

So now since I know the graphics are stuck on low, my only complaint is the few hair and face options, lol but atleast the ones they have look good.
