Yeah LOL!
What was funny was that was when a lot of the girrserrers were getting into that area in order to get the NMs there. But it was beautiful anarchy seeing people getting killed over and over by that damn ram. Iirc, I think it was even CFHed and it still killed everyone and everything and had to depop. That was one of those ffxi moments that made me truly glad to play such a game. The entertainment value of that night was money well spent.
Because i have time, and am bored and want to reminisce...
Other highlights/lowlights of my playing experience:
* Aarthars claims faffhog from FS @ 1%
* This forum & FS forum
* Just really spending time discovering zones and seeing NMs remain unclaimed for lenghty periods of time
* Launching all out anarchy with the V. Claw scorpion for several days against the sellers, I even would go there just to read the shouts and could care less who got it
* Exo's CFH on Behemoth (picture perfect shots of that)
* Yarr stealing/renaming the pearl from pirotess and enjoying Jueno
* Crawlers Nest with Mikey, J, and others...Care bears FTW!
* My first Sky experience
* The friends I made (Viviti was like one of the first in the game I met, many from there were to follow...)
* Zilart...hax?!?!? NO HE DOESN'T!!! oh well.
* German Detective Taco
* The simugh boots dispute where I quit TTK
* Hakutaku nights
* tonberry hate competitions (forgot the highest I saw)
* The ProjectEndgame pearl (yakum and drakk were awesome)
* Seeing Yakum as nin solo Seiryu through 2 hour...and LIVE!
* Hardcore like AARTHARS!!!
* Seeing a few disgruntled people go as far as to change the ISPs to log into here after being banned
* training yags on gillsellers in that yagudo place
* soloing the dragon for ZM3? It was a fun accomplishment for my rdm
* Guivre MPKs in kuftal, he owned me so many times
* Eventually beating Guivre's ass
* Still no one has beat Absolute Virtue since the fix, and seeing new, crazy, insane challenges such as that 24 hour NM and being glad I'm not there...
* I'm sure there were many, many others...
See the thing was, I wasn't as old school as many, but myself as well as many others had to figure out some things, or it wasn't as perfected in the beginning for people to tell us exactly what to do. The info. wasn't really handed to us, we would ask others, research, contribute input, and truly enjoyed the experience of developing and utilizing our strategies, as well as enjoyed the ultimate experience of the hard earned win.
These were:
* Learning Dynamis Lord (though I was never there for a kill)
* Figuring out Kirin (2 hour Kirin battles ya'll)
* Enjoying and guiding people through COP - I did a pearl for sea. we were all responsible and enjoyed the progress of making it. I helped, made friends, and people helped me, to me that "was" what ffxi was supposed to be about. I felt good knowing I was incrimental in helping others through sea when I could. I also have Mikey, Kaylia, and HCC to thank for their help as well as I passed it down to help others.
* Figuring out a few Sea Gods, and killing them!
* fighting and eventually killing one of those 3 dragons as a non-smn LS
* I did a lot of these missions as a level 70 white mage, that was victory in and of itself to me.
* Chain 1000 in broken sea

and in the end...I held a contest - gave away the then equivalent of 50+ million gill and items (I gardened on multiple accts. and made several mill gill every week)...and /waved /goodbye to friends and even a GM as I deleted Supafly (who would have probably been worth a few hundred real life dollars...and never returned to the game...but I still check in on this board.
