Pretty much all of the Chrono Cross OST was epic, which is why I used a lot of it in my FFXI music pack lol

I never played the game either, unless you count trying it out for 5 minutes on Pam's PS2 playing it :P

I really wanted to beat Chrono Cross. I really did. There are many PSX era RPGs that I just never got around to beating. College and such. But I started that game a few times in an attempt to beat it.

I made it pretty far once. I wasn't a huge fan of the magic system, and that really seems to make or break it for me in a lot of games (FF8, for that matter).

Noodle, omg... Lunar. Man, I was thinking about that game the other day. I think there was this Thieve's Bazaar song in it that just had this awesome marimba riff. Good choice, man.

I still remember looking at my gamepros in 7th grade and wishing I had a Sega CD, so I could play the first one. The screenshots they included made me have grabbyhands. haha.

I did end up getting the complete version on PSX. The box that it came with was pretty awesome for an RPG. Cloth map, mini strategy guide, song disc. Tons of cool shit.

Yeah, I hear ya. I regret I not buying the Silver Star Story Complete PSX collection so I could have all those trinkets.

Towards the horizon is one of my favourite overworld themes, it's simple yet cheery, full of hope and endlessly looking ahead, towards... the horizon~! (har har~!)

Technically game music because it's in a game, so fuck you. It's also one of the best opening scenes I've experienced in a game, and it's all due to that song (just don't watch it past 4:30 to avoid any spoilers if you haven't played Episode 1).

Not that anyone looks at this thread other than me, but:



Pretty good remake of the old NES game with its own take on the old music (the in-game music isn't metal like the credits music, at least so far) that you can set to retro if you want, along with some other things to make it act more like the NES game.

Shadowgate was good enough for a nintendo game but I don't think i'd ever have beaten it without nintendo power or some other pre-gamefaqs source of info. I might pick the new one up for like 75% off on a steam sale just to "have" it but I doubt I'll ever beat it =P

As for the music in the credits its... ok. Not convinced by that alone at any rate.

haha, it's a lot better in terms of the real in-game music, although you might not be convinced by that either:



gets better as it goes on and sounds like it could actually fit a zone like Halatali or something similar

I like this one a lot better feels pretty jamming and atmospheric. Pretty much any song with hammer on anvil type sounds though gets an automatic two-tenths of a point bonus to its score. Add in incomprehensible choir singing and /swoon.

Unfortunately I ended up not getting through the whole game before throwing in the towel lol; it's pretty tough on the hardest mode and I kept giving up and getting hints, which basically made me question why I was playing it in the first place. Then again, I did the same thing as you did with Shadowgate for the NES and used Nintendo Power to get through it, lol.
