Keep in mind my SSDs are first generation too, so they don't support TRIM. The newer ones do (like the one in my laptop) and won't degrade over time, however I can't say for sure that this will be the case if you RAID them.

well SSD are hell a lot cooler than HDD, HDD do get hot when they run all the time so I got fan blowing on them to keep it cool. only need about 1000 rpm so its quiet.

Ok....so I've been playing on semi-high settings at 1600X900 windowed which is annoying because it doesn't fill my screen.

Last night I upped the resolution to 1920X1080 and it worked perfect. I can run on higher settings on 1920X1080 with vsync off and no issues – if it’s windowed. When playing fullscreen I get screen tearing and have to run vsync, sacrificing FPS. I don’t understand the rhyme and reason to it but I’m happy to finally get a performance boost on FFXIV at 1920X1080.

lol, yeah Im digging it a lot. I like how I can log in and be right into the fight. Then at the drop of a hat i can be out of it.
