yeah lol, I finally stopped buying shit today. I already had all the games I bought anyway but they were pirated so I felt like I should buy them while they were cheap, however since I probably won't play them all anyway I stopped so I wouldn't waste more money :P

I was really hoping that Dark Souls would end up at the 75% mark, but I guess not. Tons of people at work are bugging me to play it.

I'm tempted to play Dark Souls... but then I realize I'm not hardcore enough for that sort of thing anymore. If i want a game to beat me up i'll jsut play Solar Jetman again.
I do kinda wish Dragon's Dogma would be ported to PC though since it seems interesting enough and most of its issues could probably be modded away on a PC =P

I'd just like to say that overall this Steam sale has disappointed me.

Firstly, I really missed having the meta-game to play over Christmas. It not only gave you a reason to buy games that you were sitting on the fence over, but more importantly gave you a reason to actually PLAY them once you bought them.

Everyone is guilty of buying Steam games and then never playing them, especially when they're so cheap on sales. With the achievement hunting it made you play everything you bought (or stuff you previously bought but never really played) hoping that you'd win some free stuff, so that you'd at least maybe get hooked on a few of the games.

Secondly, the sales overall just seemed kinda poor. Looking at the "encore" list above, all I see are tons of "barely discounted" AAA titles. The majority of these games, at these prices even, can be obtained from the likes of Amazon and GMG or whatever. Dark Souls is £15 above sale price, it's £13 on Amazon right now with no discount. XCOM is £20 above, it's £15 on Amazon full price, Steamworks; activates on Steam anyway.

Maybe it's because most games I wanted I already own, especially when it comes to the indie titles, but I dunno. I just feel really unimpressed by this sale.

I agree Ket. Not to say i didn't buy stuff, but overall the number of "good" games with deep discounts were very limited. Basically outside of THQ ( which is bankrupt) no real triple AAA type titles were 75% off that I saw. And like you I saw multiple titles cheaper elsewhere. hell I bought SR3 and Darksiders 2 for less on Amazon which like XCOM activate on steam anyway. Granted I was taking advantage of their 5$ coupons ( on games 8 and 13 bucks no less) but even at steam's best price they were only the same price.

Ket,

I find these sales are a lot more fun when you havent already bought every new game you wanted at full price at launch. I intentionally hold off getting games until i see it at a cheap price.
