I think i'ma wait for some price drops/reviews. It looks alright but not 100% convinced it something I'd want to play for hours on end. Stuff like the zeboyd games Cthulu savest he world or PA:OTRSPOD 2/3 are pretty short and all i can take of "comedy rpgs" to be fair the production values on this are way better, and there's probably a bit more variety in gameplay but still its also 10 times as much.

I'd be much more willing to just buy it @ 30 bucks., for 60 I need convincing.

Yeah I pre-ordered for all 3 last week... just trying to decide what I want to play it on and cancel the other 2.

I'm torn as to if I want to get this game or not. May wait, like Lackies, to see what you all think of it.

Apparently the international console versions will have the abortion mini games censored, so keep that in mind.

Yah. If I get this, I'm getting it for steam.

So I tried this game out for 3-4 hours, and basically it plays like the first two penny arcade games. It is perhaps slightly better than those games in almost every way, but overall my first impression of this game says this a 30-40 dollar value. I admit that i'm not a huge southpark fan so a lot of the minor reference and such go over my head, but at the end of the day the game is fun, and amusing, but its also pretty short, and i find the combat a little repetitive and there are some minor PC issues

Just my two cents.

Well obviously a large draw of the game is from the show references. Same thing for the Penny Arcade games.

Did you just rush through the main story or something? I'm about three hours in and I feel like I've barely touched the main story.

I fucking love this game so far...

I'm in the Inn chasing the Bard atm. I have 2 summons, and done all the side quests I've been able to figure out ( so the al gore unnderground, and big game hunting ones are still ongoing, and I'm missing 1 fast travel point).
That said the main story is better than most of the side stuff.

And anyway I'm familiar with south park so I get the references/humor mostly, but I'm not encyclopedic about it so like when I look in the kid's closet i don't recognize everything.

Anyway like I said the game is very well done and funny... Just not convinced its 60 bucks good just because its South Park

I'm really liking this game so far, I just worry about it being too short. I'm about 6-7 hours in so far, and I feel like I am about halfway through. I'm lvl 9 and at the point in the main story where you
Spoiler: show
investigate the "Taco Bell"

Unless there is a large amount of content outside of the town, it seems like it will top out around 20 hours of gameplay, even with finishing the side quests.

First question: why can't I remap controls on the PC version?

Second question: why can't I fucking remap my fucking controls on the fucking PC version?

Third question: seriously, why can't I remap the fucking controls? that's the first rule of making a PC game and presents a "fuck you just buy a console/controller" attitude which brings me to my final question...

why the fuck do I have to buy a 360 controller to play this? I'm forced to use x360ce to emulate one when using a Logitech Rumblepad 2, however I haven't had time to troubleshoot why it keeps freezing on close and thus not letting me use a controller in game.

That being said, the five minutes I could stand to play with the shit static keyboard binds was fun.

so far i just feel like the flow of the game is super slow. ive been spending the majority of my time walking back and forth with a lot of nothing going on and maybe a single fight every half hour. otherwise its good. absolutely stuffed with references for fans (most of which goes over my head as i dont reguarly watch the show) and the humor is great? im mostly impressed how much it looks like the show and not 3d trying desparately hard to look like 2d graphics. the immersion is great. my only other slight problem is that if you hesitate in battle for just even a secon (like to switch weapons) the npcs get impatient and begin heckling you which became kind of annoying. the things they say are kind of funny or what kids would say so i like the feature i just wish itd give me more than a second before harassing me for using menus lol.
if it counts for anything im using pc version with 360 pad.

I heard the campaign is short for an RPG, under 30 hours.

Why do you need an emulator for the logitech controller Kayne? Is it something specific to the southpark game or does the rumblepad 2 require it? I have the logitech F710 wireless controller. I never installed the logitech software or any type of 3rd party emulator. Just the default driver windows automatically installed. It works great with any PC game that requires a controller.

I imagine it's a "DirectInput" device, the older controller input standard, which works fine as a PC controller but I believe it needs to be an "XInput" device (the newer standard) to be automatically detected as an "Xbox 360"-style controller.

Since it's not detected as a 360 pad, a DirectInput device won't always have the "correct" button mappings by default and the game needs button remapping to get things to match up nicely. In the worst case scenario, the game will refuse to acknowledge the controller at all if it's not a 360 pad -- possible with lazy 360 ports, and I assume the problem here.

Well, I haven't been convinced to buy this game yet. I do enjoy south park, but I'm kind of on the Vurin side of the fence where I just don't see it being a 60-dollar value. I'm sure I'd have fun playing it, but I have a lot of other games I already paid for that I think I'll play first.

It'll end up on sale on Steam at some point, and I'll probably pick it up then.

Post subject:  Re: Greatest RPG Ever? I think so

yeah its fun but more like steam sale fun. i dont see a whole lot of replay value in it. kind of reminds me of castle crashers without the multiplay. however it still is a good game and i suggest it to anyone.
