Unless you've been living under a virtual internet rock, you should have heard that SE finally decided to come out and say they'll do a remake of FF7.

Godspeed Square Enix. You only get one chance to not screw it up.

I went to the /r/finalfantasy subreddit to see just what kind of reaction this garnered, and like the top 15 posts were all links to the video. I'm both surprised, and not surprised, they are doing this - the former mainly because they specifically said they wouldn't. haha

Either way, I'm looking forward to playing it. As fun as 7 was, I don't think I could make it through the slower battles and clunky character design when walking around. So I've not touched the game since like 2000.

Can't wait!!!! I am so happy they are finally doing this. BTW once again, the narrators voice was super cheesy. They need Ket's voice!

FF7 Reaction:

Bonus Shenmue 3 reaction:

I can't really remember much of Shenmue 1&2 other than I loved them and played them a few times... gonna have to replay them before this comes out.

Saw the gametrailers reaction the other day. It's amazing, lol. Especially Kyle Bossman perching up on the chair and the way they're all like "no no, it's gotta be a movie or something" and then running around after tossing their headphones lol.

Yeah GT reaction was way better than Giant Bomb reaction.

The guy who was standing on the chairs reaction was priceless lol, nailed it when he knocked it over.

I may have squealed like a little girl when this was announced live.

Also awesome to see Shenmue 3, I still have 1 & 2 for dreamcast. Those games were pioneers for next gen graphics at the time.

the surprise was kinda ruined for ket and i by neogaf but not like that wasnt fun either.
texting back and forth, "Gaf is reporting some news outlet is claiming ff7 is being remade on ps4 but take it with a grain of salt"
"well, neogaf mods require to verify a rumor else they're banned if you still see the thread there has to be something behind it"
"now more people are tweeting about it's existance"
"hmm that guy is actually a really reliable source..."

then durring the conference:
"is this it? is it? yeah it's it hee hee i can't believe its actually real"
"They should have had that guy come out from the gif to laugh again"

loving the reactions, the guy on the chair is Kyle Bosman from the Final Bossman show, you should check it out sometime. He does a good job of doing/saying what a lot of gamers think without going the super negative and curse word route. Like the Nintendo of podcastors.

The reactions were a bit over-the-top for me, but I'm sure that's what sells. haha. I just don't think people probably really stand up on chairs and such like that, unless they're drunk, or playing it up for the camera. That stuff is pretty standard on reaction stuff on YouTube and whatnot, however. It's a lot more bearable to see that than have to hear the really loud screaming and excessive/odd use of cuss words. That's probably just the old man in me showing itself, though :P

Either way, I'm pretty excited to play this game. Fado mentioned that they had said in the past that one of the reasons they haven't wanted to remake it is simply because there was too much content to convert over to a high def format. I hope they don't cut content.

People can be excited... if I was in a room full of like minded people during the announcements I might have ended up on standing on a chair...
