The combo is fast paced and highly skill based. Very fun. It's kinda like Tekken or Mortal Combat with combos n such.
If you are going to look into it, I would recommend you at least spend $5 to get premium for a week and really test it out. I read somewhere they have over a million people playing so the queues can get kinda crazy and if you pay for premium you get in faster. However if you want to be cheap, it is free to play so you can always see if you like it for free.
