My shaman is about halfway to 66 right now. BC is amazing. There's way too many quests, me and my friend spent like 9 hours in Terokkar forest finishing every quest. Just when we thought we were done we'd find an escort or another chain to finish. I definitely recommend having a partner to lvl with. Takes a little bit longer when your trying for drops but you kill twice as many 3x as fast and there's less chance of getting ganked. And there's alot of good group quests for good rewards that 2 people can handle easily.

Not to mention there are areas that are not even open in Azeroth yet, so im pretty sure Blizz doesnt want people flying over them. There is Hyjal (Which ppl can get to but still), the area behind the wall in Silverpine, areas behind Scarlet Monastery, the area to the east of Loch Modan and wetlands, area below the badlands, and many other small areas. Also there are those little locations that you fly over all the time on flightpaths that are never accessible.

Right, that's the point I'm trying to make as to what I think the true reason is behind not giving us flying mounts in Azeroth.

The whole ganking thing wouldn't be a foresight issue, it'd be an after-the-fact fix. They would have added them to azeroth and then patched it out if the ganking became an issue. But frankly, Blizz has never done much when it comes to ganking. That's the whole reason why people roll on PvP servers, anyway.
