Are you just going to do the PVP? I think they have a server set aside for it or something.

yeah, i'm gonna avoid the pvp servers, since pvp just turns into "who can lvl the fastest, so i can kill everyone else so they dont lvl."

Ya, I kinda think total PVP is dumb. 2U, make sure we're on the same server!

It's not PvP...it's AvA. Like it should be. Huge war, etc.

I'll have a char on multiple servers, however. One for me and dark's thing, one for messing around.

They aren't allowing griefing, etc. They just want huge wars and prohibitive killing. Alliance should not be able to walk into Horde hometown, and they should be killed to be prohibited from it.

yeah, im gonna miss the whole multi-class, 1 char. thing.....

i dont know how i'll feel about having multiple char. since FFXI was my first mmorpg...

having just one char with multiple jobs seems to make the avatar more personable.

I was going to go rogue, but after reading some forums(worldofwar.net or .com or something) I noticed a few people (I didn't read all of them) say that rogues were just gimp warriors at this point. Again, I don't know how much truth there is to it.. but that kinda turned me off from the class. I honestly know so little about the various classes it's not funny. Haha. Hunter just looked neat and had a pet, so I was down with that.

Im going Dwarf Paladin/Warrior not quite finished deciding yet gonna do mining and blacksmithing too

lol FFXI is vastly different from most MMORPGs do to the lack of solo crap you can do. But DRG is fun to play as, it's just usefulness in groups that gets to the class.

Actually from reading, a Rogue is the only class that can take a War 1 on 1.

They have the highest DoT, whereas War used to have the stackable power combo that let them...be a dark knight with sneak attack+hide, double attack, berzerk, last resort, and flee all at once, 1-3 hit kill any XP mob in the game, and any PC in PvP. That got nerfed. Rogues are the strategy fighters, Warriors are the equipment based 1 shot boom fighters(2handed weapons = dual wield by DoT. Warriors can tank as well as berzerk so they are more versatile, but Rogues get pretty infinate Sneak Attacks in battle in parties, and can solo do it multiple times because of stun abilities. Rogues also can status the enemies + stop magic).

So basic damage wise, Warriors are better solo for hits, Rogues beat Warriors in a party, and 1 on 1. Warriors can beat any other job 1 on 1. Rogues can't. Rogues have DoT abilities, and are = with Warriors in Melee. Warriors can tank, and do warcries to serve a strong but *DIFFERENT* party role(my favorite part of WoW).

What do you know of hunters as of now? I'm looking for a really fun solo class that can be fun with one or two others. If you could help me out, it'd be appreciated.

Open Beta hasn't started, so you can't sign up yet. Gamespy announced that the beta will start tomorrow, but Blizzard made them take that announcement down. So who knows, buddy!

Hunters cost a lot. You need to buy ammo, etc. which isn't too killer. But you also need to buy the pet abilities, housing for pets etc. The turnaround is that you don't need too much emphasis on weapons, etc. and since the new little issue they brought into the game where weapons degrade incredibly fast and you need to repair them(multiple times a day...), the costs even out....oh except for Wars, who have to constantly repair all of their expensive armor and weapons, since it's an equipment based job.

They seem to be good at solo'ing because they can play the "hit and run" game with mobs. In WoW you can't "zone" mobs, but they won't leave certain areas.

me and din plan to be buddies for this game one of us goes rogue...other war or vice versa... and maybe throw a pld in there if their class gets worked out.
we prob gonna play pvp. So when open beta comes oiut, we r just gonna screw around with as much as humanly possible to decide how to make the perf duo (race,jobs,class,etc...)
