OK Just to help after you get the patch (yes there is a patch once you install)

Select anything at first it will suggest a realm, click select a realm rather than the selected one

you will get a list with tabs at the bottom goto Eastern Time on the tabs and you will see server 13 click on that an hit 'Okay' then create your character :D

I ended up making a Gnome Mage, i thought id try the mage side first

Can't get it to go.

It just freezes randomly before I can get anywhere. Can't Alt-tab or anything. So far I've not made it past Character Creation.

Did a lil Mining and its pretty cool, have broken a pickaxe yet but ive only found a few mining viens.

Ket make sure you have all the latest shit installed

Im using the lastest Omega Drivers for my Geforce and all the other latest shit.

ust go downloading updates for all our drivers, i do this like once every 2 weeks.

Also make sure you have all the patches for windows (i dont have SP2 though) + latest DX (they provide that)

Otherwise i guess make sure you have all the stuff installed right.

If you want i can tell you the unzipped filesizes i had to make sure you have the same size files but im guessing if one was corrupt it would not let you install anyhow.

Are you getting any error msg? or just frezzing (could it be your router? try setting a DMZ for your pc)

One of my friends won an account in the stress test by having the Third Highestlevel <somedumbjobfromstupidgame>. So he was breaking the NDA and showing me screenshots. I asked him to show me something pretty from the game. His response "I was."

I know graphics itself shouldn't be a really deciding factor in the game, but the graphics are really >.> if you ask me.

game play is pretty good too. i still need to fix key binds a bi more cause defaults mean i have to use a mouse(after ffxi i like kb only)

i only did like 5 quests cause i wanted to get outta noobie vil asap people were just camping arond the mobs that are low levels, i actually got good money off the way i did it paid for the best cloth armour you can buy from an npc and all the spells i could use at lvl 6 with still enough to buy it all again.

I suggest you stay near an npc that sells stuff couase i sold back all the loot i took to npc's and got like 60 copper for 5 fangs off wolves :D

Im really enjoying playing as a mage will probably stick to it all the way, gonna give a dwarf paladin a try at the weekend to compare.

anyhow looking forward to meeting you guys in game soloing is nice for a change though and pleanty of people around to talk to, kinda wierd not having mobs 'tagged' so only you can attack them but its useful i gt saved once and i saved a few other people due to it everyone is friendly and i watched a lvl 10 warlock beat a lvl 10 rogue in a duel yesterday was pretty cool but didnt last long. the rogue ran off crying while the warlock stode there as if nothing happened heh.

hurry up and get it working ket >< (and dont be a paladin if you want to tank - they are more of a support job like a bard in this)

Reg, I really, really want to get to Ironforge so I can train in axes (knives freaking stink). I'll try to head over there sometime today, or get lost in exploring. lol

I've been trying two different ones -- warlock and hunter. I'm actually liking both (probably hunter a bit more even tho I'm ugly as sin). It is a nice change of pace - no way will I be leaving FFXI for it tho. Seems like a good game to play in the mornings when most ppl aren't on.

So last night I somehow managed to find myself in Ironforge (crazy stuff, I got lost in Stormwind -- the city -- and end up in Ironforge) where I bumped into Reg, figures that this would also be the first time (and multiple times thereafter) that I died. Crazy fool decided its a good idea to run into a house full of Thugs 3-4 levels above us and train em back, lol. :P

We dueled, lol, he was one level above me too. Once the git started playing fair and stopped turning me into Sheep (:P) I whooped his ass. All you gotta do is run in close and keep strafing behind em so they can't cast on you, kinda lame, lol.

I did some blacksmithing and mining. Kinda cool to wear armor that says it was crafted by me, lol. Ironforge much better for mining, you can do it while you run around exping instead od having to run around some mine.

I need someone to tell me how to get to Elf lands so I can pick up Cyn. I figured there's a harbor somewhere, but it looks like I gotta run through level 20+ Contested territory to get there. It can be done I know, I've seen level 8ish+ Elfs over in the Human lands.

All in all, the game seems kinda fun, but I don't know how long it would last (on a single character at least -- and I'm not a big fan of multiple characters, lol) I intend to just play the thing to death while I can for free. :P
