Simon Cowell has made millions from music and he's no different. Lots of people exist in the industry like this. I've seen lyric writers and songwriters that make more than artists. And ummmmmm, Fred Durst started going downhill when he got full of himself enough to fire Wes, after Significant Other, Limp Bizkit became a failure.
For just as many jokes in the hip-hop and rap industry there are just as many in every other genre. Music is nothing more than preference, you either like what someone puts out or you don't.
So there is no reason to argue in circles. Although that video and song about Porcupine Tree that Ponuh put in from youtube I'd have to give those guys their credit, but then again I listen to just about everything. I have to, it's my profession to absorb it and figure out how to make a living from it. I also just really love music. I' m just disappointed in the hype built up into such a bad single put out by Linkin Park, also I expected more from Rick Rubin whose credits include some of the most groundbreaking influential albums in pop music. Rubin's discography and production credits are beyond incredible. From Red Hot Chili Peppers' Blood Sugar Sex Magic to Jay-Z's 99 Problems to Danzig to Slayer's Divine Intervention to System of a Down to Dixie Chicks to Johnny Cash's cover of Hurt by Nine Inch Nails. Oh yea, and Linkin Park has released a giant tour including themselves, My Chemical Romance, Taking Back Sunday, H I M, Placebo, Julien-K, Mindless Self Indulgence, Saosin, The Bled, Madina Lake and Styles of Beyond. That is one hell of an impressive summer lineup.
