Part of me wonders if some of this is why Microsoft 360 held out on pre-installing a next-gen DVD system in their console. PS3 went ahead and gambled Blu-Ray while XBox 360 just had the HD-DVD seperate. Should Blu-Ray dominate Microsoft will probably just release a Blu-Ray add-on.

All Blu Ray fanboys should be happy HD DVD existed. Otherwise Sony would bend you over and rape you with movies costing $40 a pop and the PS3 price wouldn't have dropped to $400 to compete with $200 HD DVD players. I'm gonna go nuts when the HD DVDs go on sale and buy them up. I'll probably snag a spare player just in case mine takes a dump in the future. All this shit is gonna be cheaaaaap.

I own more HD DVDs than I do Blu Rays (I mostly rent for both). I'll start expanding my Blu Ray collection when they get more movies I like. I wish I didn't get that damn Harry Potter boxset in HD DVD format. Now they are gonna be mixed up when the other 2 come out haha.

No, it's because Microsoft inked exclusivity deals with the developers that mattered, broke the Sony exclusivity deals that they relied on and set up an online service that was ideal for Madden and Halo.

PS3 needs more games. I like my xbox 360 more because xbox live > PSN and the 360 exclusive games are so much better. The only thing I use my PS3 for is Blu Rays, upconverted DVDs, and game demos/rentals. The only PS3 exclusive game I liked was Uncharted, but it's really nothing special and gets owned by 360 shooters like like Gears or War and Bioshock...hell even Halo 3.

We all know PS3 will do better when Gran Turismo 5, Metal Gear Solid, and FFXIII come out. The gran turismo HD demo looks fucking GOOD. It looks better than PGR3/4, Need for Speed prostreet, and Forza 2 on my TV. I am really looking forward to Gran Turismo 5. I'm considering buying the japanese version of prologue...even though it's a half assed game with like 30 cars.
