There's absolutely nothing loserish about seeing a movie or going to a concert or doing almost anything by yourself (always exceptions of course.) Did it dawn on anyone that sometimes a movie or a band comes along that none of your friends are interested in seeing and your only options are to either go it alone or wait till home release? If that's the case, than isn't it kinda loserish to sit at home and miss going to it because no one you knew wanted to?

i dont think going to do shit like that by yourself is loser-ish..

honestly imo if you still have a "loser vs coolcrowd" mentality you need to grow up and get out of high school.

When I wasn't working for three months I went to movies by myself. I couldn't use my hand, and my daughter went to daycare couple days a week, so I had free time. I couldn't drive and it was like a quater mile to the theater and I was bored out of my skull. I like seeing them by myself, I can actually watch a movie. I hate going to movies made from books that I've read(like LotR) with people who havn't read them. They just can't shut the fuck up and stop asking questions lol. Going alone is nice and relaxing, especially when you don't get a lot of time to yourself.

I love this one theater, it plays movies that are out of the regular theaters, and its like 2 bucks. They have food there and a full bar. You can have a pretty good time for not a whole lot of money. The best part of going to movies in the winter, you can pratically bring anything in under your coat.

Does anyone see anything wrong with J's post followed by the 2nd sentence in Galindar's post?

Back on topic the entire plot synopsis to Cloverfield is up on wikipedia (giant spoilers there) but I have yet to see pictures of the monster on the web but by tomorrow I'm sure they'll be somewhere. I read a lot of movie plots on wiki for some weird reason, it keeps me from taking the time and money (mainly the money) to watch certain films. Maybe it keeps me from going to the theatre by myself. ;p

I love going to movies by myself. I probably enjoy my own company as much as I enjoy hanging out with friends. If it's a good movie, you won't even realize who you're seeing it with... unless you're on a date, then you don't really care what movie you're seeing.

I saw it (not alone). It was very well done (with the exception of that voiceover by "Hud". Really unimmersive). I was really tense and freaked out quite a few times.
I do wish the movie had some semblance of a narrative though. I thought as I was leaving that maybe there was something after the credits
i love how you had to emphasize the "not alone" part like any of us care who you went with.

but none the less.. amazing movie, i was on the edge of my seat the whole time.. although the first 40 min or so of the movie i felt like i was gonna be sick cause of the camera.. i'm glad the camera guy learned how to use the camera for the rest of the movie though...

movie was fantastic.

Very cool movie. My favorite part was when Hud was laying low and the military guys all around him were shooting at it with machine guns and RPGs. That whole part got me so pumped.

The part that creeped me out the most was
when they were in the subway and they turned the night vision on. Those parasite things were creepy as fuck.
I agree it's amazing they made this with 25 million. The movie was done very well and was realistic.

MINATO, Tokyo (Reuters) - Sony Corporation, the electronics entertainment division of the larger Sony Group, announced today that the business would be filing claim against Bad Robot Productions over intellectual property rights infringement within the movie "Cloverfield".

"It's a fairly obvious case of infringement," stated Sony press official Tai Nanaka, "Anyone looking at this from our perspective can see that."

The Sony Corporation's lawsuit details similarities between the "Cloverfield" monster and the primary enemy in the video game "Final Fantasy 10".

"The 'Cloverfield' monster is a direct immitation of 'Sin'," Nanaka continued. "He comes from the ocean, has an aquatic countenance, large jaws - he even drops small parasitic life-forms from his body."

Nanaka went on to speak on similarities between "Cloverfield's" cast and the characters in "Final Fantasy 10".

"Tidus, Yuna, Wakka, Rikku, Lulu...they're all there. The only one missing is Auron, who was probably dropped in an attempt to cover the obvious plagiarism."

Howard Stringer, CEO of Sony Corporation America, could not be reached in person for comment, but left the following message on the official Sony message boards:

"People need to understand that electronic entertainment is not a backyard business anymore; games are real, intellectual property, and you can't just pluck your ideas from them. I hope [Bad Robot Productions] gets exactly what's coming to them." 20 Jan. 2008

lol, can anyone who has played ff10 and seen this movie relate to the character similarities?
