I'm not sure what to major in. I think maybe economics would be more versatile than political science. Career politicians suck, so I don't want to be a career politician, but I'm gonna run. I'm gonna lose, but oh well!

I thought about getting a degree in video game design, but I'm worried those programs might be a scam.

And majoring in music, hmm, idk....... /panic... lol

I figured I'd open it out for discussion and maybe get more opinions.

how old are you?
how long have you wanted to go into economics/political science?
how long have you been a libertarian?
what's your main goal in politics?

my main concern is that your interests seem to be all over the place, so if you try to pick a major, you may realize it's not even remotely close to your ideal choice. always pick a major based on what you like and what makes you excited, not about what you hate or what you think needs to change.

If you're thinking about working in the video game business get a computer science degree. If you're not looking in to coding or the technical aspect of it (i.e if you want to draw story boards or something or other) then there are other majors/avenues for that that'll be a lot better suited than a "video game degree" which I think are very narrow. Digipen is the only reputable school I can think of that even does those kinds of educational programs.

Yes, you do seem a bit versatile but confused.

Know that it wasn't the degree in political science that made the politician who they are, it is the person. You seem more passionate in this area so why not pursue a degree in political science?

Also, be sure to research your passions enough to know not the pitfalls of the actual career. Focus more at the moment what your weaknesses in each is and what you would have to do and endure to attain said degree. Degree first my friend, career comes later.

Consider job placement per degree because this is what you will try to use your degree for. This is actually kind of funny because I see more people in some job that has little to do with the degree which they obtained. Oh well.

I'm a bit confused because I'm not sure where you sit on the collegiate ladder, are you close to even choosing a major or are you at the beginning of college? If at the beginning - focus on getting through the first 2 years lol.

Out of it all my advice is to stay away from music and videogame design unless you already have intimate knowledge of the field. Because something sounds interesting does not make it so when it comes down to you actuallly doing it. What is for others may not be for you. I myself wouldn't even want to be a video game tester lol. I like "playing games" not working on them. However I would entertain the thought of working with people on a strategy guide because I feel I could do this and be good at it. No video game degree required there, journalism perhaps, but not video game design.

Unless you have already been hired for your skill or talent in music, or played a show or concert and would want to base your life and entire future on the frequency of this pay, my advice is to also stay away from music and just enjoy it as well.
