After seeing the previews for this film a month or so ago, I knew that I really wanted to see it the second it came out. Unfortunately, it's getting an incredibly limited release as opposed to Michel Gondry's previous film, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, but luckily there's a small theater I found that was showing it somewhat near me. The only problem was the mass of elderly people making out and loitering in the parking lot.

The Science of Sleep is a surreal journey that seems to start you running all over the face of the Earth in its entirety but after the fact, you realize you never went anywhere. I found it to be one of the most entertaining and invocative movies that I've seen within the year, easily. The film draws a border around language, active thought and perception and jumbles it all together and then throws it to the wind. There's three active languages all spoken commonly throughout, English, French and Spanish. Sometimes the three are sliced together randomly and somewhat naturally cast aside at times.

Dreams and their contrast with reality, are a thing that interest me greatly, so it's quite obvious that I'd really like the movie, but I don't think it's a film that will garner alot fans in places it didn't already have. I guess that's why it is playing in such small venues. But really, if you get a chance to see this film, do it. It's a beautiful and futile thing.

Well, you see. These are rich, elderly folks who want to go see a real movie in a real movie theater. Not your standard multiplex full of teens, thugs and various dregs. The guy behind the counter looked like Hurley finally got off the island. Jimbean might know where I'm talking about, but I'm not sure how much a movie goer he is. But regardless, it was weird seeing so many old people out past eight o'clock.

So. Yea. The theater was filled with old people, hipsters, and me with tea in my hand sick as a dog huddled in a corner. In the end, I felt like I was going to die in trying to stiffle myself from coughing. Haha. I'd like to see it again, this time when I'm not the inflamed walking sinus.

Guys can like movies too! The next few movies I'm really looking forward to are Pan's Labyrinth and Borat. It's like, every freakin' person on the planet has seen both movies, and won't shut up about how great they both are. Pan's Labyrinth is being submited for best Foreign Language Film Oscar, and it hasn't even it theaters yet. What the hell! I just want to see the damn thing already. It closed the New York Film Festival this year. I wish I could have gone.

Being the nature that it's an indie film with a limited release, there is little chance it's available to download anywhere. If you know of a sit that may have it, lemme know please? I'd like to see it again, as I've said. Haha.

I use a private torrent community whose name I can't mention or I'll be banned.
