I don't have the sources, but I read somewhere that S-E stated they wanted the Beta testing to run longer than it did for FFXI (5 months), but less than it did for WoW (9 months). I don't think that's an unreasonable thing to believe. So that'd put Beta testing at around 6-7 months, perhaps.

S-E is currently hiring European-based Game Masters for a hire date of Mid September. They already have some tester positions opened currently. If you're in the London area, you may want to take a look (Ketrebu!!!)

Either way, it looks like the cogs of progress are indeed spinning, so hopefully we may have Beta testing up as early as September.

As for my plans. Aside from trying to get as many of us back together as possible, I'm aiming for a "cute" team of 5 or 6 tarutaru/moogles/whatever small race is available. And then (Supposing Rubyxiii doesn't want to come back and stake claim) choose a series of names along the lines of Strawberry, Blackberry, Blueberry, BoysenBerry, etc... I think that'd be a hilarious naming convention for a group of moogles, or tarutaru.

And then you all could be like, "We're going to go take on XXXXX. Ryan, bring out the berries!" :p

Would have to make a hume/elf alt and name him Twig, too, now that I think about it. haha </nerd>

I hate to burst your bubble, but England isn't made up of 95% London like most Americans seem to think, lol. I live like a good 130 miles (200 km) away from it. That'd be like 4 hours of travelling each day, lol.

As for FF14, I'd actually really like if everyone I knew all ended up on the same server, but I actually already know that's not going to happen just from speaking to people. Not only are there gonna be groups of people with their own groups of people they want to play with, who will have their own group of people they want to play with, etc; Theres lots of people who simply want to avoid having anything to do with various other groups of people. The chances of everyone I knew ending up on the same server again are extremely slim.

That saddens me, because I seriously wouldnt want to have to choose between which group of old friends to play with.

I wonder if we had an Ifrit server get together irl a couple years ago when there was alot of drama, if actual fights would break out. Some of us really hated other people for whatever reasons.

I have to say that nowadays, if I came across someone I had a problem with, even legendary asshats like Ulgokiem, I'd ask if they wanted to go have a beer and shoot the shit. But I wouldn't let Ulgo get drunk. Because when Ulgo is drunk he's a racist prick and would get me in a bar fight.

LOL I met Ulgo (in game of course) when he was leveling his pld in GC, I think, and he was pretty cool. Would always do shit like send me /tells asking if I thought he was doing well as a tank.

Anyways it used to make me laugh when people would tell me how much of an ass he was, during end game shit I guess, cause I never really saw it until he'd say something on the forums.
