I think alot of us old timers who rarely play or don't play at all don't think of each other as CKd, Valour TTk or whatever anymore.I know I don't. I kind of feel we are all in the same linkshell that is this site. It is great seeing all these faces again.

Thanks for keeping this site up and running.

Yah,

It'll be great having us all team up again for excitement and fun.

I'm hoping the system allows for solo play more easily, but still makes partying a faster way to level up. Even allowing it so you can team up in smaller parties would be awesome.

All I know is I'm going to wait until they start releasing some system requirements, or benchmark programs, or at least Windows 7, and then I'm going to nerd it up and start working on putting some hardware together for playing this. :D

The tarutaru posse shall rule all :D

As for my plans. Aside from trying to get as many of us back together as possible, I'm aiming for a "cute" team of 5 or 6 tarutaru/moogles/whatever small race is available. And then (Supposing Rubyxiii doesn't want to come back and stake claim) choose a series of names along the lines of Strawberry, Blackberry, Blueberry, BoysenBerry, etc... I think that'd be a hilarious naming convention for a group of moogles, or tarutaru.

And then you all could be like, "We're going to go take on XXXXX. Ryan, bring out the berries!" :p

I like this Idea, and I would totally be a "berry" taru.

Except I was already planning on making my character "Ryanracers"

I want a new PC and I was thinking the same thing. I'll just hold out for more FF14 info and build to play that.

I wonder easy it will be to accomplish this and not get banned.

FFXI would have required either some kind of hack or multiple machines. The game would shut down if it didn't have full screen mode.

It was easier to do this in WoW since you could run multiple copies on the same machine and either use a windowed mode or flip between the screens. Blizzard doesn't seem to care if you run two accounts with one on autofollow healing or something. I've done that since WotLK went live. They don't want people sharing accounts (aside from families in the same household). One of my friend's account got suspended when he and a friend were both leveling a character.

It's funny, when I first started playing MMOs (in SWG) I thought it was crazy to pay for two accounts. Yeah, there were lots of things you could do with 2 characters that you couldn't do with one. But, my thinking was it would be easier to just make friends!

In FFXI, I didn't even get a second character on Ifrit for a buck a month as a mule. In WoW, same thing. When LotRO came out, I convinced myself to get 2 lifetime subscriptions then I could 2 box without having a reoccuring additional monthly fee. I made a pocket healer that just autofollowed my character around.

That's when I realized how much you could do with two characters that you couldn't do with one. When WotLK came out, I bought a second copy, transferred my priest alt to the second account, and leveled a prot warrior and priest together. The only thing I couldn't do were appropriate level instances.

Every game I've played, I've had some kind of partner in crime :) Someone I did almost everything with, so, I never really knew what it was like to be going solo and get stuck.

Imanimd,

I'm currently hoping on a few things. First off, that FFXIV will play a bit better with computer resources, so that I could maybe run more than one copy windowed at a time.

I also hope that S-E is okay with the idea of auto following around. I know some in FFXI who do multi-box, and so in theory it should be okay.

I'm currently planning on only running one copy per computer, however, and simply using multiple machines to run the multiple copies of the game.

But we'll see what happens. First and foremost, I just need to make sure that S-E is okay with it.

I can't speak for Rid or what he intends, but, I have no intention of multiboxing FFXIV and 95%+ of my time in WoW is spent playing a single character. It's just useful to have a second account to transfer stuff thru the neutral AH and saves time to level up two characters at the same time.

I've tried to control two characters at the same time (one on my desktop and the other on my laptop) by reaching over and hitting the contols on my laptop. It's fine if all I do is have the priest sit still healing the warrior, but, for the most part I can't run two characters for anything but trivial fights.

lol, Mikey...

Let's check some things here.

- Computer Science Degree: Check
- Works in the I/T department for a company: Check
- Plays MMOs: Check

When did you ever -not- think I was a dork? Let's just be thankful I'm at least not a virgin. haha

I'll be nerding/dorking it up in FF14; you can be sure about that. :D And I expect you to be right there with me, egging me on, Mikey! \:D/

Yeah I doubt Ill get "Yarr" again. I started using that name because it was always availible, but its popular now. I probably end up using Yarrs, Yarrio, Yarrthepirate or something new.

If you create your characters quickly it should be fine. Getting Mikey would definately be hard. Yarrthepirate would be just as cool as Yarr (probably because I'm so used to it from this site).

I originally wanted Fusoya for FFXI but it was taken so I went with Kluya. I never once saw the jerkoff who took the Fusoya name. Must have been a mule. I'll go with Kluya again for FF14 fo sho.

I can't decide if I'll be a tank or a BLM. I loved PLD at first, but BLM was more fun when I played on my friend's character. Can't wait to see more info on this game and the jobs.

It would be neat to revive Ridere for FFXIV, but I'm not going to be a hume player. I was always a mage at heart, and Tarutaru are just too hilarious to pass up.

Tarutaru may not be "mage" types in this new expansion, but even so, I'm still going to probably make a team of Tarutaru. Who knows what naming scheme I'll end up taking with my boxing party, though.

As for jobs I want to level up a balanced party of some sort of tank, melee DPS, auxillary/ranged DPS, Healer, Summoner Magic DPS.

Preferably the ability to self-party for (hopefully) quick leveling, will allow me to level up some of the more annoying jobs that others may not want to level, but still hold niche spots in what may be become the end game.

If Random job X ends up being a bitch to get parties for, and soloing seems kind of dull, it'd be good to work it into the tarutaru posse for the purpose of boosting it up to be useful to the guild.

I already plan on being a major utility whore for the guild. haha :P
