Thaumaturge gameplay (the class I'm probably starting as):

I saw an interview where they said they were going to add the remaining announced classes for the Phase 3 beta, which sort of makes me think they might surprise us with extras. Probably not, but I'm still holding out hope for a thief-like class until game launches. Going to stick with Pugilist most likely if not.

I would like to continue BLM but when I played DD classes like SAM or War it was so much fun. Maybe I'll go with SMN if its even in this game

Torn between the mage classes, but I'll probably go for Thaumaturge since it's so similar to RDM.

looks like all the weapons / crafting tools are really low cost so it wont save you money to pick a particular starting class

The starting weapons are all extremely cheap, only 100 gil or so each, and all available from NPCs in town. You can probably afford to buy the whole lot of them after doing just a couple of leves.

You could easily just pick the class for whichever starter gear you want (maybe you're fond of the Pugilist's open shirt) and then just buy the weapon for the class you actually want to play as.

People can post SSs from beta now so you can prolly find pictures of their starting kits soon if not already.

I think so, as well as something like a sneak attack skill. I just don't like the hand-to-hand, would rather have daggers :P

I think I'm going to learn the thief-type skills from it and find a class with blades (archer maybe? unless bows are the main weapons for them in this game) and see what I can work with.

Personally if Archer is anything like Ranger in FFXI then Archer is what I am going to be plus you got to love a bow user. Sorry Tehkei I had too go with Archer lol.

So cool that you can always see the bow and arrows in ff14. Nice to see a few more people click on lancer too, lol.

Yeah seeing the bow and arrows in FFXIV sold me, it was kind of like a bonus for me and yeah lancers are sweet also.
