I buy any "awesome" strategy guides, like the FFXII collectors edition leather hard-back "tome":
I only use the things as a reference for finding drop/craft items and end-game side-quests, etc. I don't touch them for any of the walkthrough.

Started looking at these two: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Asus+-+Lapt ... cp=2&lp=15 and recently... http://www.bestbuy.com/site/HP+-+Pavili ... cp=3&lp=10 Price much..there are different Asus model numbers out there according to research but those look pretty gewd since I'm not a "build it myselfer." Still always researching for a better deal atm though. WTF is up with Apple? I think the quality has gone to their heads since I viewed their price versus the performance they were offering... |

When FFXI first came out the guide was great. The problem is it was outdated pretty quick as the game changed. |

The Bradyguide had great tips like "Red mages should sub warrior because it provides them with the versatility of being a front-line fighter!" or "The greatest strength of a ninja is its ability to weaken the enemy to one element and then attack with another element!" or "Beastmasters are not suited for routine exp parties because their pets always reduce everyone's experience points." |

I remember those Bradyguide but when game got updated so many times. Book was useless on 90% but still 10% show info like magic, Jobs, and maps were still helpful until new jobs and new areas came in that killed everything. |

Are the servers gonna be the same names? Where do you guys plan to go? This time I'll be playing the female toon and Sean will be playing the male toon unlike last time. I don't know about what jobs we'll pick yet though. I know it'll be tank and healer as always just not sure who's going to play what. I can't wait to play with you guys again. PS: I need to update the photo, that boy is 5 years old now lol. |

haha wow, hes five now. Thats god damn crazy to think how long its been since we played FFXI. Not sure what the FF server names will be. You can bet these forums will give everyone a heads up as to what server the the old school ifrit players will be playing on. |
