Yarr, I was getting the same issue. Are you refreshing the page or hitting the link/bookmark over and over?

I just bookmarke the page at work and kept hitting it every few minutes, eventually got in and registered my code and Ash's code about an hour go.

the way i did it yarr was opening multiple tabs... i used google chrom. so if the page does go through the next step u have multiple chance of going through it.

yeah Ive been doing that. Im working too, so I need to make sure this does not get in the way of my work. I can only refresh when Im on a quick break here and there.
I have the key, but I cant get into my account to add the code.

I still can't get this patch to work! I was up to date last night at midnight, as I was able to get to the log in screen. Now I have a patch that is stuck at 47.3%. It's like the last half of this patch doesn't exist. wtf.

That's weird, my patch has stopped at exactly the same spot, 47.3% ...

I just restarted the patch just in case, and now it times out before even doing it. And according to http://www.ffxiv-status.com/ the Patch server is now dead, great.

It's probably stopped at 47.3% because that's all anyone can download among the peers without the seed (the patch server) being online.

Anyone back to getting the Server Error now on the beta application signup? I was just getting the message where SE was saying that Open Beta Account awarding was suspended......

I think SE is trying to convince people to quit the game before they even start it.

Yup i am experiencing same thing. Update started to run this morning when i woke up, hung on 47.3. Canceled and restarted, now get version check time outs. So much for waking up early to play! qq

OK I Figured something out that will help if you have a key and need to register it. When trying to go to my normal link of https://secure.square-enix.com/account/ I constantly get the warning that there is too much server congestion. This is the link I always use and I have used for months before this open beta started. I have never had a problem with that link, but today I cant connect to it.

So then I went to the beta sign up page and clicked on the link for Registering a new account. This obviously bombed out, but when I refreshed the screen it gave me a different login URL and the login screen was working, I didnt get an error. So Im going to pass this on.

Yes, though it is very small, completes that 47% in like 3 minutes.

As of sometime last night I think Kioto had a spare key, should see if he still does.

I'll take what I can get if someone has a spare. I've logged in well over 100 times now. I'm at work, however, so alli can use is my iPhone and a congested AT&T network. So login attempts take a few minutes now.

Looks like servers are coming back up, just waiting on that lobby server though. BTW would highly suggest using utorrent or something else to update, downloaded and patched in about 5 minutes using that, versus waiting at 47.3% for hours.

Even though that site says servers are up, they are still indeed down. Everyone is experiencing 13001 connection error AFTER logging in to account, and hitting start to enter char selection screen. Off to work...



Edit: Also if you still need to update but can not finish it, or it goes slow as balls, and you dont want to use torrent someone has posted the patches on a website, the forum post links to the download... I haven't used so I would scan before installing. If need help w/ getting them in the correct location let me know
