I need to do some fixing in my action bar.

I personally put any actions that I care about the recast timers for (or just stuff I always use) on my first action bar, which is generally what's always visible.

All TP moves and related go on action bar 2. In general I won't actually use this bar though because I have all my TP moves macroed, and then macroed again onto G-keys. I also have a couple other abilities here that I /might/ use occasionally (like Defender, because the recast is so long).

All my spells go on my third action bar, and again I won't really use this bar because I have all my spells macroed, and then macroed again onto G-keys.

I'm not logged in to check but I'm pretty sure my action bar goes:

Bar 1:
1) Light Slash
2) Guard
3) Aegis Boon II
4) Deflection
5) Emulate
6) War Drum
7) Sentinel II
8) Heavy Stab
9) Siphon MP II
0) Obsess II

(Heavy Stab is my standard attack while playing as Gladiator, but it's on "8" instead of 1 because 8 is directly above the "I" key, which my hand is always on anyway because of the camera controls, works out much better than using "1" imo.)

"G Keys" for anyone wondering are an extra set of keys on the left side of a Logitech G-Series Keyboard that can be programmed to press any other combination of keys on your keyboard. I use the keys to hit macros (CTRL+1, etc) which use my standard abilities. It basically gives me one-touch access to abilities on my second and third action bars without having to switch bars:



Despite all this, my number one UI change request is for SE to make all three action bars visible and usable at once. It would make things so much easier.

That is a really good call Ket, I'm gonna start using my keyboard macros for 1 button greatness

* "Defender" is like 20+ minutes...I put on this ability....pop it...then remove it and it the buff stays on and frees up 3 AP for another skill...yet I rarely even use it since I don't tank many NMs

I have all of my abilities I use for the most part on the 1st action bar, and the 2nd bar has all my shield moves.

first row = light/heavy stab / TP moves / obsess / rampart II / etc
2d row = pro/shock spikes/ defender... all stuff I dont use often (atleast a few min times)
3rd row in order = deflection/ aegis boon II / outmaneuver / war drum / warmonger / provoke II / taunt / sentinal / emulate / feathere foot.

*NOTE row 3 = all the important GLA abilities) if you dont have any of these I would work on lvl w/e job has these skills.

Also kitty, if you dont have it already start working no getting MRD/GLA marks. you very much need Intimidation (+10 enmity on EVERY action you do MRD) and Self Preserve (increases the amount of time your shield skill last by 50%)

I DON'T WANT TO TANK I WANT TO BE A GLA DD!!! let Ket tank since he has a fancy keyboard :P

i know im just looking for an excuse not to level other jobs. I'm sick of leveling up, its boring.

How come I need to level up other jobs to be good at one Job. seems kinda lame. If it truly is a tanking job shouldnt it already have the better tanking abilities?

yeah it does. Decent as is but make sure u get shield to 50.u def want to get cure II/defender/taunt. those are all easy to get. also, featherfoot is a really good skill if u feel like getting it.
