Simple, but probably not

This is just Patch notes broken down into readable cliff's notes
link text

•Bold denotes Joining GC quest
Limsa
An Officer and a Wise Man – Ceruleum Shock – Till Sea Swallows All
The Cove – 5,6 Lower Decks
Saving the Stead Instead – 4,7 Lower Decks
Kobold and the Beautiful – 4,5 Lower Decks
It Kills with Fire

Sidequests:
What a Pirate Wants – 7,5 Upper decks
Call of Booty – 4,7 lower decks

Uldah
Burning Man – Know Your Enemy – By Fire Reborn
Prying Eyes – 6,6
Different Strokes – 5,5
When Alchemists Cry – 5,6
It Kills with Fire

Sidequests:
There Might Be Blood – 5,4
Cutthroat Prices – 6,4

Central Thanalan
3 MATERIA QUESTS – Forging/joining/waking the spirit 29,20

Grid
Their Finest Hour – Appetite for Destruction – Serenity, Purity, Sanctity
Eternal Recurrance – 7,3
The Pen is Mightier than the Spear – 7,2
It Kills with Fire

Sidequests:
Disorganized Crime – 2,1
A Slippery Stone – 6,6
Ifrit Bleeds, We Can Kill IT – 6,2

Seems easy enough when its in this format but who knows where we have to trek to complete these! I think the game is easily more balance related with a few extra GC quests for content as well as about 2 to 3 sidequests per area other than some giant stressful "OMG I have to finish" ordeal. I expect to start in Limsa and pick up and finish every quest I can in an area before moving along to Uldah and then wrapping up in Grid. I'll finish a few extra grand company quests up to the offcial recruit level as I am keeping in mind that I can attempt to add GC seals as well as SP for each quest completing which I can apply to a job I would like to level.

I pretty much already guessed that all these quests are going to involve trekking to random places everywhere, just like the previous non-dungeon company quests do. My plan is to race for Chocobo first before doing others, will make it faster.

100 Anima ready to go.

I cannot find the torrent for this update and it's going slow as hell through the stupid SE one. Will take 24 hours at this rate.

Any ideas?

The .torrent file is always in your My Documents \ My Games \ FFXIV folder somewhere.

EDIT: The lobby server is finally up btw.

Klu,

Look here for the torrent:

\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV\downloads\ffxiv\48eca647\metainfo

Here is where you'll need to copy the patch:

\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV\downloads\ffxiv\48eca647\patch

I was wondering why the version update was so slow. Musta just been released? I'll just wait til its faster. This torrent stuff is too much for me.

Whisp instead of bumping a old sticky, I give you 1 serving of copypasta.....

1. Open the FFXIV open Beta client, allow it to get to the step where it begins downloading files. This will ensure you have the torrents downloaded on your computer.

2. Open whatever application you use for downloading torrents. If you do not use one already, I would suggest uTorrent ( http://www.utorrent.com ). In Utorrent, File > add torrent. Point Utorrent to the following:
Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV Beta Version\downloads\ffxiv-beta\48eca647\metainfo

In the metainfo folder you will find files that have the same name as the patch your FFXIV was trying to download. Select these files, and hit open.

3. Utorrent will now begin downloading these files to your computer. Based on your internet connection and security settings this should take less than 5 minutes. By default Utorrent downloads to the "downloads" folder in your documents folder. After it is complete there will be a folder called D96437e6, inside of this folder there will be a folder called patch, and inside the patch folder, there will be the actual patches

4.Copy these files to Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV Beta Version\downloads\ffxiv-beta\48eca647\patch

5. Open FFXIV, it will try to patch again, realize it already has the information, and prompt you to log in.

It's worth mentioning that I started up uTorrent and the official downloader at the same time, and the official one finished when uTorrent had a good 30% left to download. Kitty, meanwhile, had to use uTorrent to get his faster, and my laptop was still downloading 5 hours after the servers came up, so torrents are just unreliable all around.
