The merge reset everything back to default. Enjoy redoing your macros again :D

Did it reset the action bar. Please tell me it didn't. I spent a lot of time getting my WHM and BLM bars the way I wanted them.

By the looks of the official forums, all characters have a new ID and so your old character's macros don't match up. Apparently you can delete the new macro file(s) that's created and rename your old file(s) to the new name and they'll all reappear.

(It's in My Documents > My Games somewhere)

Ton of activity on the new server. Here we are standing on top of random LS like a BOSS!

I'm curious to see how crowded the server is.

Just logged on. The only thing it kept is your action bar, everything else (macros, your keyboard settings, UI layout and even your active linkshell) is all reset, ffffuuuuu...

Trying the suggested config file rename fix...

EDIT:

Ok here's the fix. Log into the game once to create your new data files, then quit the game again.

Go to My Documents > My Games > Final Fantasy XIV > User

Inside should be a folder with a modified date of TODAY. That's your new character ID. Find your old character folder, it's probably the oldest or only other folder (but not the 000000 folder). It should have a mcr0 file inside it (your macros). Copy everything from that folder to your new folder, then start the game back up.

You're basically copying the contents of the more full folder into the relatively empty one.

Should fix it. Make a backup of all of them first before fiddling if you're unsure.

found this somewhere:

From Kyjun Dyrjin on the Guildwork site:
Once you log in you'll notice all macros + settings will have disappeared.
To fix it log in once on the new server (to create new char. folder) > log out > go to your user directory (documents>my games>ffxiv>user)> copy/paste your old char.'s game, ui and mcr0 files into the new char. folder > log back in and everything will be restored.

haven't even logged in yet so i dunno what works lol

What Ket said is right. I use that method to transfer macro's, etc.. between my machines.

lesson, dont jump the gun and paste the data right when the folder spawns. let the game fill the folder first.

I did exactly what Ket said, and had no problems. I made copys of both folders to my desktop just in case.

I had 5 folders in there besides the 000000 one. I wonder why lol. The one with the mcr0 file had a TON of .txt files in it. Like 1200.

Those are actually a saved log of your chat log for the past year or so. If you open a random one you'll find snippets of ls chat and even the battle log in there.

seems like no other LSes that ive noticed so far sit on our ramp, but there's some blue and white LS that sits just to the side of us (pic above). and Elite is now sitting at the bottom of the ramp halfway to the wards.

yarr i just found out you can buy items from the wards without having to actually enter the wards. i had no idea.

Something worth noting about that blue and white LS: they are always afk in "active mode". Apparently their server didn't get the memo about dooshing out with ifrit/moogle weapons.
