i'll play diablo 3 when it comes out if anyone wants to play with me and TS i realized that you can't just rely on your playing ability in ff14, for instance with garuda, you basically have to spend lavish amounts on crazy materia melded gear to be able to do enough damage. spent 2 million to have 9 things melded, at 25% chance per item, and all 9 blew up. exactly like i said would happen. now that i lost a huge portion of my ff14 life savings, with nothing to show for it, i am turned off by the game. i dont really care about gil, i just dont like anything that is luck-based, because i am never lucky. |

I just read about melding in the BG Garuda thread. Their top damage dealers are doing it from positioning and using the proper abilities/weaponskills at the correct times – not materia. They said the mages are the only ones with all dual/triple melded gear. It’s a lot more noticeable on mage jobs (mostly BLM) than melee. It can add 200-300 more damage to each spell. It won’t add that much to your overall attack power as WAR. Don't let gear bring you down. I've been saving for most of my FFXIV career. I will splurge and spend $200k on a fancy ring or earring every now and then, but I refuse to pay millions for dual-triple melded, or HQ gear. I would rather try and play better. Skill wins battles, not gear. Gear just makes it a little faster. We would all roll into this garuda fight with tri-melded + darklight gear...and run into the same exact problems we are running into now. |

I'll be playing D3 as well, I'm sure when it comes out we can make a thread with real.ids and all that. Unless of course you don't want to do any of that in which case we won't be playing together , will we? |

Alright I also will be playing D3 glad to see some people I know in RL that I can play with I will be a Demon Hunter when the game comes out can't wait! |
