For those who didn't see, Patch 1.23, the final (major) patch for 1.0 is due tomorrow evening.

United We Stand was an awesome mission, I'm looking forward to doing the final mission, probably versus the White Raven, Imperial Legatus Nael van Darnus.



But what part will Gaius van Baelsar play?



The storyline leading up to 2.0 has been way better than the game's actual "story missions". If you've been paying for your account all this time, these missions are basically what you've been paying for.

Post-patch days are usually busy, hopefully we have enough people online to finish up this quest line.

2 Questions.

Of all the the post-quit, pre 2.0 content they've released, how much is no longer available? Can I get the goobue mount and such still? I know I've missed out on holiday items, but I'm fine with that.

Secondly, is there a digital download for this game?

Goobbue mount exists until 1.23a (the first hotfix patch after this big one tomorrow) if i remember correctly.

Everything else is still in the game, but a lot of it is going bye bye for 2.0. The majority of the grand company quest line is disappearing because it's all intertwined with the Meteor storyline, which includes the stuff mentioned above, and supposedly even the Primal battles are getting cut since they're getting revamped into roaming HNMs.

As for when 1.0 goes down and is replaced by 2.0. Well, if I recall the date was supposed to be mid/late September if they're still on schedule. But they also said that 1.0 will go offline a whole month before 2.0 goes online, because it'll take that long to swap over all the servers and migrate everyone's characters. They intend to run the 2.0 beta during that month of downtime.

As for digital download, there's supposedly one on the SE store but it requires you to buy it each time you want to download it because their programmers suck. Easiest solution if you've lost the disc is just to torrent the thing.

The 2.0 client is supposed to be a free download to everyone who owns 1.0 though. I assume through their site somehow and not just a massive 10gb "patch".

I just hope my computer can run 2.0 in maxed out settings. The "lighting" settings in FFXIV and 16x times texture graphics kills my computer it gets like 1 FPS which is crazy, but chances are it can't because 2.0 looks even better then stock FFXIV :o

I'll log on tonight klu, maybe rest of week if there's enough interest too. You can message me on steam too, I'll usually end up checking it at some point.

I hope we all get to get into the beta(s) for 2.0.

Wow. 2.0 is in september, huh? I may have to look into the torrents, then, as the optical drive on my big laptop is kaput, and I'm not interested in replacing it. Definitely don't want to repurchase the game, though. That's dumb.

Just put the disc into another PC/Laptop's drive and network share the drive. I've installed tons of stuff this way, almost always works a treat.

Not enough people know about this imo... I used that trick a lot in the past. As you pointed out you can run into problems. I started to find it easier to rip the CD to an iso, copy it over to the machine and then mount the iso and install locally.

I'll be on tonight after patch and every night the rest of the week most likely. I've done the Grand Company quests up to 1.23 but I can help yall complete it. The last one was a fun fight.

I'm making a new build just for this reason. The new engine looks great compared to the current one, lets just hope its better optimized and not more taxing on specs.

The current engine is far too taxing for what you get. I can't wait for the revamp. I will also upgrade my PC for 2.0

I logged into FFXIV last night but only a few people were on. Being pacific time zone sucks sometimes. If I don't log on immediately after work, it's too late for everybody else. I'll login earlier tonight and hopefully finish the last grand company quests.

Btw, did anybody get anything done after the Patch went up? Servers don't come up til like 2AM my time so I skipped the night.

Is the pre-req really just this one instanced NPC chat in Gridania?

That's the only pre-req for the "united we stand" quest, which I still haven't finished. I need to do the fight in Mor Dhona.
