I finally found the cave and got the next part of United We Stand. Im going to try and log in more often now (Im playing a ton of game, its just Im not playing a ton of FFXIV atm) to try and nag everyone to help me out.

How close am I to the finish of the storyline?

United We Stand:

Average difficulty 8-man BCNM. Easy if your group has mostly done it before.
Requires training through a stronghold to get to the BCNM, can take a while if people are 'tarded.

To Kill a Raven:

Hard difficulty 8-man BCNM. Average difficulty if your group has mostly done it before.
BCNM is at the Gridania airship dock, no training anywhere.

Living on a Prayer:

Solo mission. Requires you to go to 12+ random locations throughout the world.
Quite easy, just a few spots where you're going to have to either train or avoid level 80+ mobs.
Can be done in an hour or two if you have spare anima and already visited most of the atheryte nodes before.
No fighting in this mission, it's all travelling and cutscenes.

Finishing Living on a Prayer gets you the achievement for beating 1.0, and the Dalamud Horn. Gotta goto the rest stop near Camp Horizon to actually get the Horn.

all that for a headpiece that just has magic evasion +5?

Sucks you weren't online last night Yarr, we finished it for about 4 people in the LS that needed it.
