If there's anybody who hasn't been enjoying their e-mail lately, even though they're legacy and all, this was posted to the official forum:

Quote:
Greetings,

We'd like to assist anyone that is potentially affected by this issue. If you are a Legacy member that has not received their Beta Test email, please create a ticket using this link: FFXIV: ARR Support Center Site.

Then fill out the fields using the following information:

•Contact Category: Product & Services
•Contact Sub Category: Beta Test
•Contact Details: Blocked Beta Test Invite

Click "Next" to proceed to "Email Support". In the Detailed Condition field, simply provide only the following:

•Registered Email Address (if different than what was entered in Contact Email Address field)
•Registered Date of Birth on Square Enix Account

Our agents will then review your ticket and Square Enix account information and if you are confirmed a beta recipient, we will reply with your Beta Test key and instructions on how to register it.

Nah Alpha don't get in automatically, only Legacy.

Every player with an FFXIV account, past or future, gets in on Phase 3.

The world gets in on Phase 4 (Open Beta).

It's still possible to get in earlier than phase 3 via random selection as long as you signed up.

lol, well I got a response back from SE telling me I'm not a legacy member (was worth a shot) so it looks like I'll be waiting until Phase 3, which sucks because I really enjoyed the alpha, but whatever :P

At least you're not butthurt about it. You should see the amount of QQ over on the Lodestone when the e-mails went out and all the non-Legacy people suddenly realised they don't get in too.

Never seen so much shit storm since... well, since all the legacy people didn't get automatic entry to the Alpha, lol.

EDIT: Oh and I've been hearing that it's probably possible for non-legacy people to get into beta before phase 3. After all, phase 3 is when all FFXIV accounts (both active and non-active) get beta access. And phase 4 is the open beta. There'd have been no point to applying if it wasn't possible to get in early. I've also heard a few people claim some non-legacy already got in, but I've seen nothing concrete.

If it's anything like alpha I expect them to start sending waves of invites out if the number of people online drops.

Ket, just to clarify. Even though I didn't have an active FFXIV subscription for the last 10 months, or whatever, before it closed, and I have no desire in filling out any forms to be qualified for the beta, they'll still let me get into phase 3 of it?

I had been thinking about playing the game again, but I realized I'd be playing it on my laptop, which is a decent laptop (Asus g73), but not anything that would play FF14 with any stellar performance before. My home office is upstairs in my house, and it's too annoying to be up there with two siberian huskies around. haha.

So at this point, i'm not sure if I'll play, and I'm not interested in applying for the Beta, but I'd maybe test it out in Phase 3, if it didn't require me to do any extra work to do so. :D I feel pretty lazy about the whole FF14 thing, to be honest.

As I understand it, yes. Everyone with an FFXIV account, past or future, gets into Phase 3.

Even if I'm wrong, Phase 4 is an "open beta" with progress that carries over to game launch, and then they're going to re-instate the free month trial for everyone too. So you'll get a chance to try it either way.

Oh, Phase 4 is the one with persisting progress, okay. Either way, that's all good.

Now that the BMW is paid off, I'm tempted to make a crazy computer, but I still have to deal with the issues of keeping it in the office, or having a computer desk in the TV room, which is kinda tacky

Just to clarify: Your 1.0 characters are available to use in Phase 3, but progress on them will not save until Phase 4.
