Aside from CKD things, my personal to do list is:

-Finish completing all class quests on the jobs I have at 50 (p4 was locked to 20)
-Finish making my macros as 3102 didn't let me finish that
-Complete main story quest as far as I can
-ACN/SMN/SCH to 50
-ARC to 50 in preparation for PVP in 2.1

My plan of attack mostly consists of finding Whisp and Athelle, and immediately doing all the crap we couldn't do in Phase 4.

I have a feeling access to dungeons, especially the later ones, is going to rely upon story progression to unlock them. So my first order of business is most likely to get as much of the main story done as possible to open up all the content.

Then outside of doing stuff with the shell, I want to focus on getting the damn Relic I started at the end of 1.0.

After that, I want to make gil while it's easy to do so. People too busy with playing the game means high demand and low supply. I want to build up as much money as possible by the time housing rolls along, and hope I have enough for it.

I want to start finishing up crafting and working on gathering. So that means I'll be xp'ing ACN (unlocking SCH then SMN), doing the main story line with those 3 and completing all of my class quests and working on relic at the same time.

Since I won't really get to play until about 6pm on Saturday, I may have to do some catching up.

Yah,

There really is so much to do in the game now, it's crazy. I'm not as concerned with having the end-all, be-all gear. Because this game is taking a WoW approach to gear, so all that hard work people do right off the bat to max their char will get swapped out with the next content patch.

I mainly just want to focus on getting caught up with crafts, quests, and jobs, so that I can always help participate in end-game content. (And get my gear then).

I'm only interested in doing the Relic if S-E specifically states there's something players will be able to do to upgarde it after each content patch, so that it's always the best in slot item. If that's not the case, it seems like a huge time/gil investment for a very temporary gain, and I think I'd pass on that.

EDIT: I hope I can get enough accomplished between content patches to where I'm not feeling like I'm always playing catch up.

"Relic +1" weapons have already appeared in the dats. There's a bunch of AF+1 too.

EDIT: E.g.: Curtana +1
Valor Surcoat

Nice, I didn't know +1 AF was even a possibility.

Ridere you are not as far behind as you think. You made a ton of progress in V1.

Camp revenant's toll in Mor Dhona Murph. There's NPCs you can trade currency to for AF+1, Darklight gear, etc... You can view a full list of everything by talking to the NPC to the right of Rowena.

I heard about trading in cracked materia stuff, I never got into that so didn't bother worrying about it. I thought Ket was saying you can craft +1 stuff now?

Maybe I misunderstood.

I wonder if Coke is worth anything. I think I have some on my retainers. I used it to skillup thinking I'd profit off the rampager heads or whatever they were. Then later I found out I wasted a ton of gil cause no one was buying all the NQ rampager heads, and I couldn't craft them into rampagers, they had to be HQ. So I just vendored them all. Was like 20 of them. The good thing is, once I realized that, I stopped, and so I have a bunch of darksteel nuggets, rivets, sheets, ores, all that laying around my retainer.

Actually, the HQ parts have been removed from the game. All of the HQ parts have been converted back into NQ parts, and only NQ parts are required to synth those weapons now.

They'd be useful now if you still had them.

It at least means Relic should hopefully be a lot cheaper to get started with.

That's good news about the upgrades, Ket, at least for those who are interested in getting a Relic. Do you think that'll basically mean that every new dungeon from here on out will drop worse weapons and maybe just also drop some random material that you need to upgrade the weapon?

I wonder what % of people who get a relic in the next 2 months will still be using it a year from now. If I could somehow find a delorean to get the answer to that, I'd have a much easier time deciding to do the quest or not. haha

It would make more sense to bump it around every few patches. As you suggest, it'd be pointless to have Relic always be better than every other weapon, because the drops from every dungeon would basically be worthless.

Also consider the act of upgrading the relic is likely not an easy, or inexpensive, task. Considering the 10 steps of bullshit you needed to go through to get it in the first place, upgrading it might be just as much of a pain.

In which case, the new dungeon gear being better than your relic becomes a stopgap until you can finally get your relic upgraded again.

That seems like it'd be okay to me, yah. If they allow relics to be perma-upgrades, then that system could work. At least as long as you can upgrade your relic to the max tier by doing whatever annoying process is currently in place for the max tier.

If Jim Bob gets his relic item 9 months from now, and has to plead and beg people to run raids of 6-month-old content in order to get upgrde 1 before begging people to run 3-month-old content to get upgrade 2, all so that he can join those working on upgrade 3, we might not see much interest in it. haha.

Yoshi said relics would always be the best weapons in 1.0 and I'm pretty sure he said that would carry over to ARR. I can see dungeon content moving up to match a relic and then you have to upgrade relic again. They should be worth the effort to get.

Yah, that seems like the ideal situation, then. I just didn't want to see all the hardwork go to waste.

I'm excited about doing end-game stuff with CKD again. haha

I really hope those crafting items like coke and peacock ore are obtainable some other way, or that tomestones aren't super rare. 125 tomestones for a single ore is pretty crazy.

I like the idea of giving a reward for players that are able to commit a lot of time and resources, Relic is just that.

I don't think i'll work towards one because I like to play too many classes and committing to 3-4 different relics sounds insane.
