So with new nVidia drivers and a new tool I thought I'd test my system.

The benchmark: Here

Win 7 x64
GPU / CPU clocks:

So here is the older ARR benchmark:

Driver 320.49:

Driver 326.80:

Here is the new benchmark:

Driver 326.80:

After GPU OC (boredom):

Looks like they did a lot of optimizing from beta to now. I'm really impressed with the current engine and give props to the current dev team (Even though the 90000 error was homosexual).

Gave it a go with the new driver but didn't bother a high oc or closing shit down:

This is higher than what I scored previously with a high OC and nothing else open.

Installed the 326.80 Beta driver. Benchmark on Maximum @ 1080p gone from 10330 to 11235, almost a thousand more points.

Pretty awesome.

That's 1920x1080, what will you be running it at come game time?

Yeah the game performance has gotten a ton better since it's Alpha days, I'm pretty impressed.

Krel has a 690, which is basically two 680 chips on the same card. So it's like an SLI'd single card.

Sweet. It's nice to see that they put some effort into sli.

Same as above applies.

Fullscreen was 13,450.

@Rush - Yeah they didn't have SLI support in the first benchmark a few months ago, so it was great to see it in this one. It works great in game too.

Inspired by the thread, I decided to go look and found that AMD released their own beta drivers that optimized things a little. I don't remember what the score was originally when I tested on the recent Benchmark (Original Bench was 5336 Max / 5604 Max w/ LOD/OC options on), but the drivers improved the score to 8110 / 8410... so yay.

Only hope that it reflects how the game runs in release. Was having a noticeable FPS loss during P4 when there wasn't in P3.

Just got my new rig up and running and ran the benchmark.... now my Laptop which is actually a macbook running bootcamp scored about 3500 on maximum at 1920*1080 which was pretty rubbish I thought... this new rig which has taken about 6 hours to sort out today is up and running with a score of 14887 on max at 1920*1080 :) specs are:

i7 4770 @ 3.5GHz
16GB DDR runnin at 2666Mhz
MSI 3GB Geforce 780 GTX
OCZ Revodrive 3 (240GB) running on PCI-e @ 1GB/s read

Rest of the specs dont matter :)

Very nice specs and score! You will be very pleased at how amazing the game runs on your new rig.

i want this juicy driver! cant wait for the final release. im afriad to use the beta version, with my magical capabilities of breaking things my computer would probably implode and get sucked into its own black hole into another demension where arr doesnt exist.

Prior to all this I had a driver from March, and my game crashed several times during phase 4 of beta.

It would boot me out of the game, the monitor turns black while the audio makes a loud distorted noise, then when the display recovered I was at the desktop. I could click the game in the taskbar and open it back up, but it would run 15fps until I completely closed and relaunched the client.

I updated to the latest "non beta" driver (320.49) just a few days ago, and haven't had a chance to see if the crashing was fixed. I wasn't going to bother with the beta 326.80 driver, but after seeing everybody else do it with good benchmark responses...I couldn't help it. I can always roll back if this one is a problem.

Kluya,

Mine did the same thing. Screens blacked out, would recover, but I'd be stuck at 15 FPS for what seemed like forever, or until I restarted the game. I did update to the latest release driver at the time, and the black screen issue did resolve itself.

All other glitches after that were 100% home-grown S-E bugs.

That's odd. Hopefully the driver fixes your problem. Everything was perfect with 320.49 during beta for me.

I had a few driver crashes, but I think that's cause I was pushing OC too hard. 320.49 worked great for me other than that. I never had any of the fps drops either. Even after a driver crash the game would keep going like nothing happened.

Yah, it was bizarre, Krel. haha. I want to say that it'd recover eventually. Maybe a certain zoning/change of display did something to sort of soft reboot it, and FPS would pick back up to 60, but otherwise, I was chugging along at 15 fps.

At the time, I knew there were issues with 90000'd and 3102, or whatever, so I was really nervous about logging out. When I went to bed on Saturday morning (lol), I updated the drivers, and after my 2 hour nap (ugh :P), I was good to go!

When things cap at 60 fps, and visually you're really hard pressed to tell a difference between 30 fps and 60 fps, I'm just not going to bother upgrading to beta drivers. Not when I know the game is working fine for me right now.

Of course, I don't even OC my machine. I'm still so trigger shy about stressing/pushing hardware. haha

Somebody told me you had the same error (or maybe I read it on here somewhere). It happened to me about 9-10 times over the course of phase 4. It's good to hear the updated driver helped, there's hope for me lol.

Really your specs are good and you already run this game at it's max capacity with no problems...overclocking CPU/GPU wouldn't make a difference besides e-peen lol.

Krellis had to overclock his because it's all fancy and liquid cooled. He would be an asshole not to.

Btw Krellis will get a kick out of this. FFXIV ARR pushes my GPU all the way to 72 degrees.

I've had this GPU for a while now, and it's never seen over 62 degrees prior to this.

Some cpu's are meant for OC'ing though, the "k" and "x" chips for Intel are meant for it. In the end everything is for e-peen, but you will see a difference with OC. It may not be in the game itself, it could be the ability to handle more things while the game is up for instance.
