Btw Krellis will get a kick out of this. FFXIV ARR pushes my GPU all the way to 72 degrees.

I've had this GPU for a while now, and it's never seen over 62 degrees prior to this.

Im not even going to tell you how hot my GPUs use to get during 1.0, but 470s were known for getting hot.

My 480 reached *96*.

Was the prime reason I went and upgraded to a 680.

Heat and the fact it sounds like a Jet Engine will be my main reasons. Still, I got 10k on my benchmark so Im still happy with how it performs.

Seriously though, you guys are making it really hard to resist throwing several grand on a new PC altogether.

yeah, I kinda want to buy a 780, but if they go back to whatever the hell they did in Phase 3 to make shit run better it won't be worth it (and I doubt it's the number of people on screen as that doesn't seem to affect my FPS much at all)

I would skip the 700s honestly. 800s should be pretty amazing since they'll be able to develop the Titan engine further for them.

Well I turned off the fps limiter on the 780 and it ran at 120 fps quite steady for about 10min but the fans and everything started getting high so I put the limiter back to 60 fps and quickly it all went back to normal, have not seen any drop under 60 fps even in cities etc so I would say the 700s are good, but yea if the 800s are due soon wait for them :)

I agree. Im holding out for the 800 series, but I wont be getting them right away. I want to get the same setup I have now (2x470s), but in the 800 series (2x870s).

I don't see me upgrading in the next year at least. I would much rather spend the money on three monitors first.
