Yeah I hope this means people transfer off our server lol. I see darklight and relics every 2 steps I take. Our server isn't just crowded, it's crowded with guilds who wrecked 1.0

Hopefully they can really have the servers up and running early next week. I know adding capacity isn't as easy as the internet seems to think. Regardless I'm happy they are taking action.

Wow, that is tough to read. A few things I picked out, though.
  • They reached 217k concurrent log ins. That's over half of the amount of subscriptions that Yoshi-P said they'd need to make FF14 popular. That's pretty incredible. I can't even Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis what that puts the number of subscriptions up to, but even after the free month drop off (i'm sure there will be some), that should hopefully put subscriptions well over 400k.
  • No idle/afk kick. I guess the statement was not that they were going to do it, but that they weren't, as that doesn't fix the overall root cause.
  • Looks like we'll get some free gameplay days added to our accounts. That's nice of them.

I couldn't really make heads or tails out of what they were doing to fix the data centers. I just hope it happens soon.

Honestly I would rather see them fix the root of the problem instead of a band-aid solution...which is the exact approach they are taking. Good job SE.

The problem with an AFK kick is that it basically tells people how they should play a game they are paying for a subscription for.

If I want to pay 15 a month to simply have Gridania music playing on my computer, that's fully in my right. I pay the same amount as the next guy, so if I want to spend my time in game just standing around, it's my right.

Also, what if it serves some RP purpose for those who are into RP. It'd force S-E to define AFK, and besides, people already have 0-spamming scripts, so what would stop people from just rubber-banding a movement key, or button press. People will find a way around it.

It sucks for those who get stuck waiting. I paid my dues on Monday. But ultimately they need to treat the root cause, not boot people.

You are preaching to the choir. I fully agree. The arguments supporting AFK kick on reddit were making my head hurt. I read alot of them and I disagree with every single one.

Some people were saying it should happen every 15 minutes, some people said every 5.

5 minutes? Are you f-ing kidding me? lol.

So now today for me the whole NA/EU servers can't be found when I log in and when I try again the start button is greyed out so I am starting to think they are making shit up now to keep other people from trying to log in and spamming 0.
