Le mariage de Solais

All are cordially invited to attend the marriage of Mr & Mrs Solais.

Date:
    Saturday, December 20th.

Time:
    2PM-4PM EST
    11AM-1PM PST
    7PM-9PM GMT



To gain entry you will need an invitation. You can get these by trading either of us. We will be announcing these in FC chat during the week and likely handing them out in front of the FC house.

All attendees will get a free minion and fireworks to use.

The ceremony will be followed by a party in the FC house, and all members are welcome!

Attendees are encouraged to dress up for the occasion with a suitable glamour, or can purchase a bridesmaid dress or best man suit from Rianne (Ul'dah - Steps Of Nald, 11-11).

For those wondering, it was quite a race to get a slot booked. You have to both be awake and standing at the NPC at 1AM PST this (Friday) morning, and each week thereafter. There were, of course, about a hundred or more people there all waiting and spamming this NPC. We picked a time to rush for before the NPC opened up, waited for the Server Time clock to tick over, and somehow managed to get it.

There are only about 10-12 slots per day (forgot exact), and there were only a couple of slots each day left (except Tuesday had 8 left, gotta farm that coil reset....) by the time I had to log out to go to work 15 minutes later. It's probably going to be difficult for people to book their slots for a few weeks, especially if you don't have the platinum plan (allows you to book two hours before others), or gold plan (book one hour before).

Just some confirmation from Reddit for anybody wondering:

The wedding rings will teleport you *directly* to your partner, not just to the atheryte in the zone, for free. They are on a 30 minute cooldown and do not need to be equipped, so you can hotbar it. Works anywhere except an instance or inside a house (housing zones work fine).

EDIT: P.S. A reminder: This is tomorrow. We've been mostly giving invitations to people as we see them, but if you want to come and don't have one you should seek us out asap. Probably going to put a couple of spares in the FC chest just in case.

If you're late, I put some spare invitations and fireworks in the company chest on page 3. Grab one then book it to East Shroud.

And the video for those that missed it. I had to spend all morning editing this because:

1) The screenshot sound effect is apparently really damn loud. I managed to reduce this using an inverted phase re-recording of just the sound effect, but you can still hear it a bit.

2) Apparently a bunch of my items sold right during the middle of the cutscenes. Had to overlay some stuff to hide it.

3) Somebody decided to type a URL into mumble chat and the text-to-speech got recorded. Had to overlay another section of the music over that part to mask it out.

Nobody will probably notice any of that without knowing where to look though lol.

Anyhow here it is for anybody that missed it, especially since you cannot rewatch this cutscene using the inn book. This is just the cutscenes, but there were some interactive parts where all the guests could come up and use fireworks and stuff, as in the screenshots above. But a warning for people, it's pretty cheesy:
