We would like to announce that we will be bringing the extended free trial period to a close and introducing subscription-based billing to FINAL FANTASY XIV, commencing Friday, January 6, 2012.

Read on for further details on the forthcoming charges and information on setting up billing options.

If you pay close attention, it looks like the date of the patch is buried in the information here.

I was thinking about this today, and I worry you are correct. A lot of people who quit FFXIV are not coming back anytime soon - due to lack of content or serious improvements. Adding billing will only make it worse.

I hope atleast people start playing when 1.2 is released, so we can kill moogles and check out some new shit.

Were any of the current players planning on quitting come billing? I thought that those who indicated such in that poll Kio, or whoever, put up had already done so (whisp, Kitty, myself). Hopefully you all still have enough people to do things :)
