Wow... don't get why they would do that... I also saw that allotting points to str, dex, etc... are now back for all melee/mage classes... looks like you start at the base amount and have to build your char the way you want... but you can't undo any of it in 1.2... so better get that shit right the first time!

The good part is that they actually tell us what str, dex, etc.. do now, so that's something... better up that MND for gla and PIE for arc and lnc!

Overall there seems to be a lot of good coming from the patch though, CNJ aoe has been increased and THM now shares the same AOE... at least for attacking mobs... and ARC's acc is no longer dependent on standing a certain distance from the mob.

This was also good to see:

Quote:
[dev1256] Character movement speed during active mode is now the same as passive mode.

I am so overwhelmed. This patch is changing a lot. I might hide in the lands of Skyrim until people figure everything out lol.

What really makes this confusing is the fact that there is no Shell any more.

Also:

24 Trait Enhanced Protect Increases magic defense gained from Protect.

why not have just combined shell and protect and call it wall or barrier?
Personally I'm saddened by the loss of shell, protect and shell are just as standard in the FF series as chocobos and moogles are. It bugs me that so many exceptions are being made to try to fit crap into the stupid action bar, rather than invent something better than the action bar.

Also, it appears that the patch is being delayed a few days per a jpn post from Yoshi-P. Kinda silly not to have made that a public notice in all languages...cause that's like important 'n' stuff...

Hi, this is Producer/Director Yoshida here.

My apologies to everyone with regards to the release date of patch 1.20.
Up until now we have been working on finalizing patch 1.20, however while we were doing this we discovered a few critical issues related to the market search and servers. Up until yesterday we were carrying out fixes, but today we are going to have to carry out one more round of checks as it's important for us to get back to a stabilized condition.

Unfortunately we can confirm that it will take a minimum of 2 days to clear this up, therefore the patch that was scheduled for release on Dec 14th will now be scheduled for Dec 16th at the earliest. My sincerest apologies for this unexpected delay.

We will make a topic announcement sometime today with a more defined date. Again I am really sorry to have to tell you this right before the release.
I'm going to get back to work on coordinating the fixes for the release so please bare with us for just a little more.

It has been clarified that the Shell effect in the original quote is from the Ironwill Ungent. If you use that potion, it will over write Protect.

Sweet black fucking sabbath, So ARC is dex and pie, its like I predicted the future and probably still wasted tons of gil on piety materia. However, this patch is welcomed in all aspects.
