SE are holding a competition to guess how long it will take players to first defeat Garuda.

Ifrit took 74 hours, 58 minutes.
Moogle took 6 hours, 18 minutes.



Winning entry (exact to the minute) gets to choose any Garuda weapon to have for free, plus some kind of scarf item?

Next 20 closest entries get the scarf plus 5 Vortex Headdresses (Garuda Totem/Nuts).

Hints are: "Battle is harder than Ifrit/Moogle." and "Quest leading up to BCNM is much shorter."

Entried are valid until April 23rd. It's possible that's when the patch is, or maybe a day or two later.

I went with 9 hours, 27 minutes.

It'll be harder than Mog, but it shouldn't take anywhere near the amount of time Ifrit took. Actually I think my estimate is probably still too high. Way too many people now have every job at 50 that some hardcore LS somewhere is going to burn it down early with BLM BLM BLM BLM BLM BLM WAR WHM or WAR WAR WAR WAR WAR WAR WAR WHM or something.

These prime fights are neat, but I can't help but just be sad that they state they'll never be summons.

Unless they retracted their prior statements, I remember them saying they are already confirmed to be summons, just not via the summoner job; instead by free companies or something? And that the summoner job would get different weaker summons like carbuncle. But regardless as Ket said, I have no doubt that the usual primals (garuda ifrit etc) will eventually be summonable by the summoner job as well in the far future.
