We are pleased to unveil two exciting new campaigns as well as information on the revised fee structure that will be instituted upon the launch of FINAL FANTASY XIV version 2.0. To coincide with this announcement, Producer/Director Naoki Yoshida has released his twenty-seventh Letter from the Producer, which provides additional insight into the campaigns.

Neat. Summary for those who can't read (will post in both threads):

Welcome Back Campaign: All inactive characters will be able to play the game for free between May 10th and May 21st. No hassle, the game will simply allow everyone to log in regardless of whether they are paying or not.

Legacy Campaign: Active players who have a cumulative total of at least 90 "billed" playing days (i.e: after January 2012) before 2.0 hits will become "Legacy" accounts.

Legacy Accounts:

Will be able to play at the currently discounted subscription price forever.
Will be able to create up to 40 characters (8 per server) at no extra cost whatsoever.
Will recieve an exclusive chocobo mount/armor.
Will earn a place in the 2.0 game credits.

Sweet!! I'm glad I didn't spend seals on chocobo armor lol.
