I wonder who is going to get into the Alpha first.

I've been super lucky with Alpha\Beta test invites, I have a feeling my luck has run out.

I hope atleast one of us gets into it.

I have a stupid question, but want to confirm - there is no TOS violation with telling people you got into alpha/beta, correct? You just aren't supposed to discuss it with the peasants who don't get in? So if one of us gets in we can openly brag about it?

It all depends on if they have a NDA or not, and what is included in the NDA.

What Nay said. You'll be told whether you can disclose that you are even part of the Alpha.

I've been in some real betas in the (distant) past that were geniune non-watered down NDA contracts that you had to physically sign and send through the post. The contract would specifically state whether or not it is ok to announce your participation in the beta, and being physically signed you wouldn't dare break such a contract.

These days it's usually some digital "I accept" button with some kind of "please dont leak stuff or we'll boot you" clause.

That said, it is definitely not a good idea to break SE's FFXIV 2.0 NDA. It specifically says in the terms before you sign up that if you break the NDA, they will suspend your account. Yes, that would be the account with your current XIV character on it. Not worth losing two years of work for the sake of leaking a screenshot.

It's been a while since I read the fine print while signing so I don't know if you can announce whether you're in it or not. In general, you're usually OK to announce you're in said beta (but absolutely nothing else) if said game and alpha/beta test has already been announced. But this is completely up to the people in charge of the NDA which you'll be made to read and accept before you can get in. They may choose to, they may not.

A lot of companies generally lift their NDA (even if the game is still in beta) once they feel the game isn't buggy enough to be shown to the public, it gives them free advertising after all.
