As promised, legacy members can now register their name to have it placed within A Realm Reborn's credits. You should have gotten an e-mail, but here's a reminder anyway.

Thank you for your continued support of FINAL FANTASY XIV.

You have continued to stand by us as Legacy members, and with the upcoming release of A Realm Reborn, your dedication will soon be rewarded.

As promised when we first announced the Legacy Campaign, we would like to include the names of our most dedicated fans in the credits of A Realm Reborn.

After reading and agreeing to the terms and conditions below, please fill in the name you wish to have shown in the credits. As the release of FFXIV: A Realm Reborn draws closer, we will continue to put forth our best efforts to create a game worthy of bearing your names.

Note: You can put either your real name or a character name, it's up to you. Names will be checked and they reserve the right to not put your name in the credits if they choose, so if you enter Seymour Butts it's likely to not end up on the list.

For the record, I'm gonna use my real name.

Everyone should use Kayne's real name. I wonder if they would put a bunch of the same name in if it was registered for separate accounts.

I don't know if there's going to be enough legacy members for it to actually happen, but I did kinda wonder if people with common names are gonna be like...

John Smith
John Smith
John Smith

...in the middle of the credits. I suppose they'd likely just condense them, you'd probably never know.

But what if your name is John Smith and you're friends with another John Smith and you realise you're not both in the credits!?

Yeah, ok, never mind.

I'm really more wondering who's going to successfully get a joke name in the credits. I suppose as long as it's not obvious it shouldn't be hard, they're gonna have to check thousands of names after all. There's going to be loads of people with pretty stupid (yet legit) character names that'll dull their senses to actual joke stuff.

I ended up going with Yarr Ifrit. I can almost promise that there will be a duplicate of my real name, but my character name will (or should be) unique.

I still think of your name as Trent for some reason lol. I remember a thread loooooooong ago when people were saying you looked like a Trent. It's stuck in my head since. I'll look for Trent in the credits!

I found a thing on the old Lodestone forums that basically confirms that any duplicate names will be removed from the credits.

But hey, as long as you're blissfully unaware of anybody else with your own name, whether that be your real name or your character name, you'll never know the difference.

And I wonder if Ifrit is still a blocked surname, or any of them for that matter. All of the FF11 server names were blocked as surnames unless you imported it from your old linked FF11 character. Making anybody with those names pretty unique. But Ifrit (the FF11 server) ceased to exist not long after FF14 launched, which meant you couldn't get it anymore. I dunno if it's still blocked though, they may have taken the restriction away (or rather, more likely forgot to re-implement it) for ARR.
