This is this morning. If anybody is up early enough you can watch it on YouTube at the following link.

http://sqex.to/ibL

Time: 13:00 GMT / 14:00 BST / 9:00 EDT / 6:00 PDT

It'll all be in Japanese but you always get to see them showing off new stuff in the game (last time it was housing) and they do a live twitter translation of any important points.

Anything interesting is said I'll post it here.

Stream has gone live 50 minutes early. Just showing a logo and playing music though. Last time this is when they played the Magitek teaser though, so we'll see.

EDIT: I think they're just testing and setting up still.

EDIT2: And back to logo and music, now waiting for the main event.

Good luck, Ket. I can't watch that at work, Sadly. I'll check in, though.

They're playing One Winged Angel in the background. This obviously means Sephiroth is confirmed, of course.

I think they have the producer of FFXIII sitting here for some reason.

Showing off Coeurl mount at the moment running around thanalan's now quite vast looking desert. Also said something about Beta Test 3 and "Weekend". Might be saying it's still weekend only.

Boo to weekend only! lol.

Post subject:  Re: Live Producer Letter Part VII (5/30)

Showing off the new houses inside now, small medium and large. Also, confirmed weekend only (at first).

Q1: Will Phase 3 of the Beta Test only be conducted on the weekends?

A1: For a while it will be only on the weekends, but for the latter half of Beta Test Phase 3 we will have tests that last longer.

Lots of technical difficulties and swapping streams back and forth. Will probably just wait til the end and post all the translated stuff afterwards.

FYI. As rumored, Scholar was just confirmed as the 9th battle job. More info at E3.

That's a lame new mage job, IMHO. They just added Geomancer to FF11, a much better choice. As would be Blue Mage, or a time mage/buffing job, or whatever.

There's going to be no Phase 3 before E3, and being weekends only still, the current plan for Phase 3 is June 14th.

WHM didn't disappoint. That'll still probably be my main, barring us being flooded with healers. Then I'd bounce back and forth between it and summoner. I don't know if Arcanist will be an interesting end-game class to be, or not, but I'm assuming i'd be playing a Job, not Class.

Most hate playing WHM for some reason Rid. There is always use for somebody who is willing to play WHM.

I'm not sure what I think of Scholar. I quit FFXI before they added it.

June 14 is right before I go out of town for a week. Maybe I am happy it's only on weekends for now lol. I won't miss much!

That video makes me really want to play..

I never minded healing but I will of course be Bard when I start out but to be honest the DPS side of me hated that they made it more buff friendly and not more like FFXI's Ranger but the party friendly side of me is glad I got song buffs.

i always prefer healing because i feel in control. especially in a pickup group. in a linkshell party im ok doing another job cause i trust our healers.

Exactly, a bad healer can make or break a party. I always love being in control in a party.

Haha, reminds me of Yarr during FFXI HNM fights. That was always the joke, but of course he was there more in an alliance organization capacity.

But yah. I like healing. It's crazy that it stuck, seeing as how I switched from WAR to WHM after not enjoying LFG as a WAR in Qufim back in FFXI days. I figured that a WHM would get invites fast (after being inspired by seeing some JP in full WHM AF in Bastok) I immediately fell in love, and my long-term goal was the Noble's Tunic. Along with hitting 75, of course.

I'm definitely a mage at heart. I'll have all mage jobs maxed in FFXIV, but I still suspect I'll primarily be either a WHM, or whatever useful mage job pet class they happen to have. Still unsure how SMN verses Arcanist will work out.

Post subject:  Re: Live Producer Letter Part VII (5/30)

Most legacy people have all classes or almost all classes to 50 regardless. In almost every mmo I've played for example, I've strictly stuck with pet classes only, but in xiv even I have almost everything to 50 lol. It's actually rather sad, I don't really feel pride in what I play anymore, it's gotten to the point where it comes down to the fotm or what's most useful at the time. I wonder if xiv 2.0 can give us that special feeling back of playing the jobs we love

Post subject:  Re: Live Producer Letter Part VII (5/30)

Well, I quit before everyone was so easy to get leveled up, so I only got THM and CNJ to 50. haha. Unless the leveling process stays easy, I don't see myself leveling up a lot of the melee jobs.

We'll see, though.

Post subject:  Re: Live Producer Letter Part VII (5/30)

i know what you mean madi, i didnt feel a special connection in any of the classes or jobs in 14. i was very dedicated to dragoon in xi and was seeking something on the same personal level. i keep telling myself that the right job for me just hasnt been introduced yet but i also contemplate if that is truly the case. most the jobs play exactly the same way, despite their better efforts there still isnt asigned roles or nearly so compaired to xi. it works both for and against it. in xi you had melee classes but each had a sub specialization, game style, and interworking within a group. xiv you have melee who are more or less just melee and very interchangeable. it works that groups dont have to be picky about whom they have along unless they really want to be, wherein xi you had to really weigh on what mob you were fighting and whom your other group makeup was and also any bias they may carry. so being more generic has its ups but i also feel like i lose out without a more clearly define role than spam 1 until its dead.
