If this is the case then I am ok with it.

Re-authenticating would be horrible. I go afk for 30 minutes at a time pretty often. I will end up creating an endless auto-jump macro if that's required.

If I got booted to the character selection screen I wouldn't care much.

I imagine it will kick you back to the title menu like logging out does now, which still doesn't require a new authenticate so should be ok
